Hey guys, I have been working on the Rank Pips and sprucing them up a bit. I felt there was a need for something for the Communications Officers and did an image of Uhura's earpiece. The problem is that it is too tall. The limit on height for these is 30 pixels and if you reduce the original image the Pips are too small. Any ideas? I enclose one possibility at the top. Just so you know, I did try one with the pips partially overlapping the earpiece at the bottom and it kind of looked like a bug with wheels.

One suggestion I just made to Bashir via PM was to increase the sizes of ALL of the pips, so this image doesn't look so out of place. What do people think of having giant pips?

So Matress, am I to understand that you can go ahead and increase the allowable size (Height) of the space the Rank Pip images occupy on the web site? I hope that was clear. Bashir mon

The image size is dependant on how big the images that have been uploaded. If the rank images are 90 pixels, then the ranks will be...90 pixels!
In other words, MAKE THEM ALL BIGGER AND THEY SHALL ALL BE BIGGER. There is no admin-set limit on rank image sizes unlike there are with avatar sizes. IF there is a limit, it's one that I don't know of, and would be a forum software-imposed limit, rather than an admin controlled limit. _________________ "Anyone without a sense of humour is truly at the mercy of the rest of us." |

All the Pips are in thanks to Jigalypuff and Matress_of_Evil. As you have noticed they are about 25% larger.
 There are the standard Pips There are Paintbrush Pips to designate Artists There are Spanner / Wrench Pips to designate Engineers (3D ship models and other engineering) There are Communications Pips (Uhura's earpiece) for the translators. There is a new set of Borg Cube Pips for the collective among us. There are a few custom pips for Mike, Matress, Winterhawk and Skeeter. Some merit promotions came with the changes.  All you lurkers out there, participate, post and advance your rank.  |

Ooops, I made it too tall. The top is clipped off. I hope I get a chance to fix that! I think I have been wearing out Jigalypuff.

Just checked. The height is correct. I just did something that clipped off the notes and the dark pips. A corrected file has been sent to jigalypuff and LIghtning_Computer_Matress_Of_Evil (aka LICMOE).
