Thank you, my friends! I just felt it would be a good one. My Mentor (my brother) once said to be careful with the short ones.
"Spill your color on it so that it stains you and your public." he was saying.

How about the Romulans? Over proud, liars, treacherous and hypocrites. So proud that they leave their signature everywhere. :romulan: Espionage should reflect their real nature.

After I write this message, I will predict that you'll have the treacherous song of the treacherous Romulans in it's predictable folder. That is in five minutes from now. Treachery Green_1m31_Romulan Espionage_Gino Véziau
How's that for a message? And how about the song?
Happytrek not the same green.

It is a good piece of music but it strikes me a as a little too light hearted. Your skill with music is superior to mine with 3D models. I am just not sure this quite gets the mood in my opinion. Sorry, am I wrong?
:borg:

Here is a link to a trailer for the HBO series ROME. The show was not so hot but the music mid to end in the video has a nice mood.

I know what you mean. Maybe this one is a bit too dandy, you are right.
Looks like you appreciate piano songs because from mid to end on the demo, the instrument you hear most is a piano, with some strings. It has a good mood, though not so far from what I did.
Let's keep this one there (I'll change the classification) and I'll try something else, at about the feel I think you would like.

I am glad I did not upset you too much. I recall that the themes to some horror films set a nice dark mood. I can not check the mp3s or such from work but I think it was the theme from Friday the 13th, or was it Nightmare on Elm Street, that evoked foreboding and tension? I will look later.

You got that right and Happytrek keeps asking what I think of the music. (Like I know the first thing.) Well as long as he asks I will help where I can. Otherwise just get out of his way.

Thank you Kaladin!
I'm just doing the best I can for the Future best game ever!
It's a grace that some nice friends guide me over! And that some other nice guy just hop in to tell how they appreciate! Warming! Really warming inside!
Thanks again!

How could I ever get upset? I'm open minded, I have to be, since I didn't know a thing about game music, and you my friend, and vjeko1701 guided me all along by your comments. To me, as long as one is not shouting or flaming at my work, or at me, I have nothing to complain about and I will always try to adjust my style to what is needed. I know about playing a game, but now, doing music for one is another thing for me. A dream come true and a better challenge than what I do all day.
And we still don't know about what Mike will decide at the end of it (although I have a good feel about it), but I think humbly that I gave my best.
So just keep on writing what you feel about it and I'll be happy, really.
Thanks to you Sir Kenneth_of_Borg!

Tension.
A sense that something will happen soon. An overwhelming fear about experiencing a calm before the storm. As when you are sure that something is about to happen. Something bad, really bad, bloody and lethal, that you can smell from the thick air around you. A darkness so intense that you can barely feel the floor you are standing on, that you fear that every wall has disappeared, that even the slightest move you make echoes for ever on... darkness itself!

OOh! Yes! You know something is bound to happen, and that something could be the last thing you ever feel in your life. But that silence! That ugly silence, that lies to you, so heavy that you can't even hear your own heartbeat, nor your blood flowing through your veins, nor your breath blowing harshly. Blind and deaf, and that silence. OOOh!, That silence! How you hate it!...........

Figures, the music I was thinking of is from Halloween.
It is rated #2, second to the last, on the countdown here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkfLAvYm ... re=related
Pull the slider out to 1:14 and listen to the terror of treachery.

And for Combat I wish we could us this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LZcMv0H ... re=related
They reused it in the Gladiator note for note.

and again
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Z_lAjt- ... re=related
This guy is good.

Great music! Yeah!
Gives me some hints on what I could base my song on (Halloween). I think I was right about treachery.
I've made something not far from that second one in SharePoint. I don't remember which one it was though. Must be from the first ones I've done.
I'm taking my time to really get into the feel I want.

For battle music, it could be something like that. Hammering, constant attack sounds, stabbing fast notes, Gothic style a bit.

Right! That guitar guy is really good!

Tomorrow, I'm going out for a while, but as soon as I'm back, I'll give it a try again.
See ya, friend!

Ok! Me again!

I've uploaded a new version of Romulan Espionage in Experimental and tests.
Romulan Espionage 02_1m17_Gino Véziau. I'd rather put it there in case it doesn't fit in. Because if we put every tests in that folder, we risk not knowing which is good or not. I want you to be honest on this one. I'll explain later, ok?

Bye bye!

I think that gets the mode very well. I will qualify that in I would not want something so "modern" or Alien in the map or system window. We will not be spending a lot of time in the Espionage relative to the others so it works to set the mode in there. It would get on your nerves if it was playing over and over on say the system window. It works for the times you do go into Espionage IMO.

Thank you friends! Finally I did it!
Do you want to know why I had so much problems with this one? First, I wasn't always here at home, I was moving all the time from here to there, so I kept on losing my view of what it was we needed.
Second, I was locked on Battle mode since I heard that theme you sent me Kenneth on the Pirate of the Caribbean.
Funny how a music could block on me like that. It's not your fault, you see it's me. Usually, my ideas always come in a flash and I can easily switch from a theme to another (well, you saw and heard it all),
but this time, I could not get my mind off to think of something else, :brickwall: even by banging on the wall for half an hour!.... No, actually, I banged only once and it was hurting me so I stopped!
You can hear and feel it on this one a little, it has a kind of battle drums on the background and I didn't want it to be heard so much but it was really dull without it.

BTW, I guess that now we will have to transfer it to the right folder. Sorry for this but I was not sure it would fit. Now, we will have to transfer the bad one in the Experimental Folder and the good one in it's own Romulan one, and I will switch names (I will have do it myself, as I recall, Kenneth; your keyboard is in English mode). I can do the renaming, if you can move them. I"ll check on it later.

Now you know why I ask your opinion all the time! It is like in this case when I get lost and can't get back.
Thank you again friends! Kenneth_of_ :borg: and vjeko1701 :bolian: !

No problem, I always enjoy listening to your music. And I think that all Romulan themes should be a bit aggressive since they are such a militant race.

Thank you vjeko1701
I agree. But in some windows, I believe there should be at least one slower pace music, not too slow, but a bit softer than in Battle at least, even though they are always at war with every race. IMO but I could be wrong.
They are also a treacherous race, liars and unfair, and deadly. I think of treachery as a soft tension strings always in the background while their schemes, lies are in the string short licks, the horns attack with stabbing shots in the back, leaving no escape. At least I tried to make an image of it in this music. The piano at the end is the result of winning by killing its opponent, since they don't usually make any prisoners.
Is it the way you see it also?

Now what should I do first? Random Events or Battle?
I believe there are still some Intro themes to make, or am I wrong? I lost count for a while. :waaah:

OK! I switched the names of the files between each other. Done.
Now Romulan Espionage 02 has become: Treachery Green_Romulan Espionage _1m17_Gino Véziau, and vice versa.
Thank you Kenneth_of_Borg. I see you could use your accents for the French language. Bravo!
Ok I'm taking a break now for a day. If there's anything, just send me a message here.
I'll be making more soon after that.
Battlefield or Random Events?

Looks like again, I've been away for too long... time flies when you're working on other things. I apologize for my absence, however I did check this area for awhile to see if anything had changed and until now, it seems like you guys ...what's the word I'm looking for? Things changed I guess.

Let me clarify some things first. The music submitted that I composed/uploaded was done so knowingly of every law, being a U.S. citizen and professional composer, I knew what I was doing. There is a fair use act and anything put up is not violating any copyright law, and as someone stated CBS and Paramount is open to fan projects. I was told, to my understanding that this is a non-profit game and thus (not told any different) could work freely to try and deliver the best music I could using top notch resources and time. So to complete this part of my post.. it seems your new composer is trying to get my music out of the way. The music was made for your game, if you want to get rid of it; it's your choice I have had rejected scores before. I strongly disagree with this choice, but it seems you have him as head composer and you're getting what you want.. that is what is most important to producers (game developers in this sense.)

As for my recent return, I was going to let you guys know that I basically have acquired every single piece of Star Trek music that Ron Jones has ever composed. Every cue for every episode of TNG before Rick Berman fired him. I speak to Ron on occasion and he is even aware of this game. Now that this music is available, it would of been great to work with him in collaboration and I was going to offer a CGI intro with score for the game as well.

In conclusion, it seems very crude; as no composer likes to be shelved, especially when they can commit to projects that offer money (which obviously isn't what I am about). Like I said, I am sorry for being on and off with my time... but as this is a game, I assumed it would be awhile before it was completed. I didn't understand that I would be given the boot. What makes me even more upset was that I was chewed out about requesting to be the single composer becuase mixing music doesn't usually work... and it ended up happening anyway with someone else.

Ah yes, Professionalism.

Kicking the dead horse...

Look at it like this. The game is STAR TREK. Wouldn't you have Star Trek themes in it? Or are you going to rename everything in the game. The music is perfectly acceptable under these terms.. that's "what I was thinking".

When you say "Acquired every piece of music Ron Jones ever composed" are you saying you have legally acquired the rights to the music? Wow!

I am 100% sure that no one here meant any disrespect for your amazing work. Captain Bashir

It is great to see you back Andrew. For my part I am most respectful of any professional that donates creative work to a project like this. You, Slim and Mike have made this project so much more than what it was. Thanks for the offer of additional music.

I am not aware of any music being discarded from SharePoint. That, to me, would be wrong. What will be in the actual game though is up to Mike. He is the one we have to impress. To that end I though it was your music that is the Supremacy main theme or am I wrong?

When someone like Happytrek donates so much time and generates so much original content I am glad to make room and move things around so he can work. Having created my own art content for the game it is easy to understand how you must feel if you think your work is being ousted. I have seen some of my original content replaced over time in the actual game files. Some of my work will fly and some will not. Until we get another game release though I am not sure how any of the music on SharePoint will be used. It is premature to assume you or your work is being rejected. As I see it we need more music and still have room for most everything on SharePoint.

As a fan game we should, in my opinion, not turn anyone away. Not you, not Happytrek and not Sandman. Was it Sandman that was indeed turned away as result of your asking Mike for an exclusive on the game soundtrack? This was not handled well and we learned a lot about how a fan game should work from that experience.
