What's this? Basicely my attempt to go trough the shiplist and refine it more. Match the roles and ship meshes/images better. |

This looks very nice. You have set on something that could really help the game. We can offer ships for the game in both forms. The original BOTF likely went with names like scout, destroyer and cruiser because most people playing the game would not know or care to learn the difference between a Raptor, B'rel and Vor'Cha. They would know what a scout was for. We could have a version for the casual player and one for those in the know on Star Trek ships. MOE can help you with setting up a balance in the ship stats. |

Looking specifically at the Klingons, what if you swapped the models for the Scorpion and the Fireblade over? Whilst the image you've supplied is rather small, the general shape of the Kron model looks a bit like a sword to me, so it would fit the Fireblade name. The change would also put the model later in the shiplist (Tech 10 instead of tech 4), which based on the colour of the model would fit canon better. As I mentioned in the other thread, the colour of Klingon ships began to take on more of a bluey-green colour post TNG era, so this change would fit in with that. |

The way I see it there are two ways to deal with models that don't fit: 1) edit the texture (or mesh) -by making windonw bigger/smaller or changing the hue, you can get it to appear the right size 2) change the role/position of the mesh in question Both can be used. It all depends on what you really want, or how bad you want ship X to be in position Y. As for the Kron class - here are a few better images of it: http://legacy.filefront.com/file/Klingo ... lass;94134 The first time I saw it it was classified as a destroyer, altough I recently saw it as a cruiser. So... Hm..I do agree with you that Knron might be best used as Destroyer IV. Gah..the Klingon and Romulan shiplist still need a lot of work. There are many great ships for them and I'm still thinking some positions over. |
