Thanks to everyone who helped me previously. I have the demo game up and running. My problem now is the combat simulator. I have downloaded it. It was a .rar file and I needed to download WinRAR to extract the file. I am running Windows Vista and I couldn't extract the file otherwise. I extracted it to C:\Demo and clicked on the run demo shortcut. I got the following error message. Please help! Attachment:

Not even in compatibility mode? I don't have Vista, so I can't try it...

I noticed the problem. Do you see it as well? okay, I must it's easy for me cause I had it most times with bote too when it still had the fixed c:\botf2\ path. in short, you extracted to c:\demo\demo\ which the link doesn't find cause it searches for c:\demo\

Ding Ding we have a winnar!! Also it isn't compatible in vista at the moment, the best you can do is just about get in only for it to crash when it tries to load up some textures. Sorry for now it is XP only. Regards Wolfe

Yeah I tried moving everything to C:\Demo instead of C:\Demo\Demo. Must be the Vista thing. I'll try it on my desktop which is running XP. Windows can run all the commercials they want, Vista still sucks compared to XP (even more compared to Mac).

The wedding photo looks nice though. Would you take another screen shot without the window open over the desktop so we can see your first officer?

Um I run vista... Aside from the issues I mentioned it runs fine? Unless he's using a different build?

Umm it shouldn't run "Ingame Engine-wise" in Vista, are you saying you can get the demo to run while in Vista, i.e with ships and it not crashing after 1-2 seconds? Regards Wolfe

The ship selection etc part of the program apparently works in the game - as Wolfe said, we need to know whether the actual ship combat works on your system. If it does, there may be some configuration, setting, driver, or program that you have that most other people seem to be lacking.
