I have been going through the editor and have noticed a few things.
1. None of the Minor Race buildings seem to have tech requirements. 2. None of the Minor Race buildings seem to have any industry assigned to them.
Before I start tweaking too much I wanted to make sure just how much, if any, of that was purposeful.
Also, I have come up with an interesting idea regarding the minor structures that result in bad things happening, such as -3 system moral for building the Halkan Dilithium Cracking Station. What if races that would be concerned with keeping their member systems happy and out of harms way, ie the Federation, Ferangi (can't make good profit if all the workers don't want to work, also depends on how the minor joins), and possibly Dominion (depending on whether the minor joined by choice or was conquered) and the Romulans (again depending on whether the minor joined by choice or not) Would at a certain tech level be given the option of building a more acceptable and safer varient yet less lucrative variant of the minor races structure. The Klingons would most likely not care and view the unhappiness as a sign of weakness and the resource starved Cardassians would likely want to get their hands on as many resources as possible and so would be less likely to take the time to develop the safer variant of the structure.
In the even the original structure is built before the more advanced one becomes available then there would be an option to simply upgrade the existing structure as opposed to destroying it to make room for the new one. Also, for the races that would be less likely to develop the alternate structure there could be a small chance that the ability to build it could become available any how because of either the research of the a scientist or disgruntled minors themselves. After all, as the Ferangi might see it, a happy slave is a productive slave. The random chance or the alternate structure becoming available would be different depending on the empire.
1 = available from the start (if the tech requirements are met) 10 = worst chance of it becoming available
..............................Method of Joining empire..................Conquest.........Membership Federation...................1...................1 Ferangi......................3....................1 Dominion....................4....................2 Romulan.....................4....................3 Cardassian..................6....................4 Klingon.....................10....................5

Problem is now you've essentially got two planet specials and either one negates the risk of building it.
You don't want the negative effect don't build it. If buildings begin to go down the route of having no negatives but less positives, ie average hmm to me a bit of a loss.
You want an uber dilithium special then take the risk and build it, but get ready for the consequences.
Also there can't be that many specials with that negative an effect surely?
Have you got MOEs recent update with all the Minor Races and there special buildings?
Or was i supposed to do the minor race special buildings...? OH GOD NOOOO!!!!!!
Regards Wolfe

Apparently MOE hasn't entered any of the costs for the minor race buildings yet. He should have them shortly.

So is a more recent version out then? If so when did it come out and how can I check which version I have?

No, the November 4 release is the latest. There will probably be another one this weekend.

Yeah, I haven't entered any numbers for the minors yet, Fox. I really am getting closer to doing that though. There's just a few more things that I need to do first. I've got a 3-hour lunch today in uni (Would rather just finish 3 hours earlier though ) so i'll try and finally finish those updates. I'm free all tomorrow so i'll be able to just do the industry costs then.

Meh, my plans have fallen through - Wolfe's updates are far bigger than I was expecting (That's not necessarily a bad thing though! ) so I seriously doubt i'll complete the updates this weekend. I've made some changes, added in a few descriptions, started setting the building upgrades/obsoletion settings, and added tons of Wolfe's buildings. Still a long way to go though. But i'm knackered now and taking a break to post on the forums.
