Post subject:  Question for modelers...

I've been doing a few renders for random events and the like. I've got a fairly complete library of meshes, models, and textures. (of course, by yours truly) But I'm not much of a modeler. I can do pretty much anything with a single model, but when it comes to complex scenes, I struggle. In any event, here's what I have. I have a Sovereign class starship leaving Mars orbit (terraformed) and I wanted to place a mesh of Utopia Planitia in the background. But I don't know how to place another model into the scene. I tried File > Merge and added a 1701, just to experiment, but it appeared to actually merge the 1701 with the Sovereign, making a single model. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

if the model you already have is in 0,0,0 the nit`ll look like they have merged but they won`t have, to be sure make certain noting is selected when you merge another mesh, your doing it right file-merge- find mesh you want - select and add.

Thanks Jig! But when I move them, they move together? (Even when I only have one selected)
