I've got a idea for the races and empires:

<Race Key="BARZANS">
<SingularName>Barzan</SingularName>
<PluralName>Barzans</PluralName>
<Description>The Barzans have for some time now endured a resource shortage, confounded by over-population, pollution, and multiple social problems. But hope recently emerged in the form of a Wormhole in the Barzan system, offering a new horizon of opportunity for their people, and any who are affiliated with them. The Wormhole however is reputedly unstable, and further study is recommended.
</Description>
<HomePlanetType>Terran</HomePlanetType>
</Race>

In fact, it would be necessary to replace and rename
<SingularName>Barzan</SingularName> by <SectorName>Barzan</SectorName>
(On the galactic screen it would be the name of the sector)

& <PluralName>Barzans</PluralName> by <Inhabitants>Barzans</Inhabitants>
(On the galactic screen it would be the name of the inhabitants)

Thus we would keep:

<ShortName>Federation</ShortName> & <LongName>United Federation of Planets</LongName> only for the current diplomacy (for example)

& <MenuName>United Federation of Planets<MenuNameName> only for empire selection Menu

For the following example:

<Civilization Key="FEDERATION">
<Race>HUMANS</Race>
<ShortName>Federation</ShortName>
<LongName>United Federation of Planets</LongName>
<MenuName>United Federation of Planets</MenuName>
<DiplomacyReport>The United Federation of Planets is a coalition of worlds bound by a mutual desire for peace, the pursuit of scientific understanding, and trade. By far however, the most numerous of the Federation races is one of the founding members, the Humans of Sol. The people of the Federation live in a society based on the values of liberty and equality. Their strength lies in extremely effective research, which grants them fast access to new technologies. They are also efficient in industry, the mining of raw materials, and the production and supply of energy and vital goods to their planets. Their high-quality products come at the expense of high resource costs, however. Because of their moral convictions, they quickly show weaknesses in the field of espionage, but they make up for this with impressive, well-rounded starships, which function as well individually, as in groups. Federation starships are equally likely to be seen conducting trade, exploration, humanitarian, and diplomatic missions, as they are to be seen conducting military patrols and combat maneouvers.</DiplomacyReport>
<HomeSystemName>Sol</HomeSystemName>
<Color>Blue</Color>
<HomeQuadrant>Alpha</HomeQuadrant>
<CivilizationType>Empire</CivilizationType>
<TechCurve>Supreme</TechCurve>
</Civilization>

The text in these files was not precisely human-written. Any code labels were written by the editor and are therefore required for programming reasons, even if those labels appear incorrect to human eyes; remember, the files weren't originally intended to be read by humans anyways. It's only because we're updating and transalting the files that we're looking at them.

Making changes would simply break how the game works. We therefore cannot make these changes. Only Mike could do that - assuming he wants to. And he has a million and one things that he needs to do already.
