First of all let me say hello. And congrates on what looks to be a great game, i can see a lot of time and effort has gone into the game, so thank you for that.
I have never played botf so im a little confused about certain parts of the game, so i have a few question, sorry if im repeating what has already been asked, but ive been looking on and off for the last few days. So any help would be great.

1. How do you create a task force?
2. How do you give orders to ships, i can move them and the only orders i see are (engage, avoid and escort) i really want to invade and conquer other races.
3. The other races dont seem to be doing much, i have taken like 20 planets and the cards/roms have still not done anything, no ships or defences. So far i have had no fights at all.

But again, i can see myself having many hours of fun playing this game, thanks so much for all your efforts.

Hi klacey, and welcome to the forums. :)

All of the points that you've mentioned are the result of the incomplete status of the game; you've asked about features that haven't been implemented - yet.

As these features have not been implemented yet, it is therefore currently impossible to create taskforces or invade systems. The game also lacks an AI (Artificial Intelligence), so the other empires and minor races was literally sit there and do nothing - they won't even build food buildings to feed their populations because they essentially can't think - yet.

The AI will likely be one of the most complex parts of the game to implement, and as such will be one of the last parts of the game that will be finalised. That said, we *may* have an early version of the AI in the game within a few months, depending on how quickly Mike (The developer) can implement it. It will require a lot of tweaking to get it working as we want it to though; this will require feedback from people who test it, or we could end up with Klingons that run from combat and the Federation acting more like the Terran Empire.

As for invasions and fleet creation, i'm not sure how long that will take to implement, but I imagine it will be easier than implementing an AI. Other than that I can't say how long it may take to implement, i'm sorry. It will definitely be in the game one day though. :)
