I believe that the Federation has too much of replicators. In fact, one Federation Replicator and the Bio-Replication Net are enough. In the demo why not add a breeding of animals in each empire as the Klingons who have a breeding targ (per example)? So we would have several kinds of food generated: farms, aquatic plants, replicators, and "breeding". |

Technically the Empires do already have lots of different types of buildings. The additional replicators are my own idea, but it's one that I consulted with Dafedz for. He hasn't updated his database with this info, but I wanted the game to have a better sense of of the progression of this important technology. I admit some of the bonuses need toning down though as the Federation currently have huge food bonuses. Here are their buildings as they stand though: Federation Free Market Agricultural Centres Aquasphere Hydroponics Dome Private Farms Protein Resequencers Basic Food Reprocessors Federation Replicator Bioreplication Net Domestic Replicator Network Klingons Basic Food Processors Aqua-Dredge Targ Breeding Ground Mark I Replicator Mark II Replicator Private Ranches Forced Labour Farms Romulans Organic Regenerators Mark I Replicator Mark II Replicator Aquaculture Centre Bio-replication Net Cardassians State Rations Agricultural Program Aquafarm Hydroponics Dome Basic Replicator Private Farms Dominion Provisions Station Organics Replicator Advanced Replicator Private Farms Some of the minor races have unique food production structures as well. So as you can see, there is a decent mix of food buildings already. Ok, it's a bit lop-sided with the Federation, but some of these replicator techs could potentially be shared or modified. |

I've posted about this months ago. It's ridiculous the amount of structures the Feds have. More upgrading to do, and it's such fun the upgrade system... The names are problematic too. Replicator, Replicators, etc. Bad ideas IMO. More structures doesn't equal more fun or more "content". More annoying, more disk space, more processing, etc - the usual batch of excuses should be applied here too |
