Is there going to be an option to upgrade obsolete stations and ships or will you just have to scrap the station and build a better one.

Yes, you'll be able to upgrade them. The system simply hasn't been implemented yet, that's all. I don't know *when* Mike plans to implement it either.

So you'll need to scrap Starbase 1's to make Starbase 2's the Mike? That sounds a bit odd. Oh well, if it saves more time than it's worth, so be it. I'll advise people of it in future.

You would still recycle components and materials wherever you could. Would you choose to build a station from scratch and ship in all of the materials whilst ignoring the mountain of a hull that is already floating there? I wouldn't.

So we you hit the recycle button and the station comes down adding stuff into your supply. Then you hit build station and a new one goes up. The alternative is one button called upgrade that does the same thing. Both ways should work.

I like to have the option to "abandon" older stations.

You have to scrap an existing station in order to build a newer one in its place, so in effect you are "recycling" the materials.

- or you gift it to the Caucasians and then it explodes.

Just give the station to the Borg. When they are done looking at it, blow it up. Borg invasion problem, solved
