So I have been checking back here every so often for years now and.. well.. just wondering if I should continue.. ? The game has been at the same state for years. Its been sitting with no AI since forever. Every year or so I get a hair up my asss and blow thru BotD for a couple weeks then reverantly put it back in its case till next time.. then I go looking to see what the mod community has been up to and usually end up here going "This is the same thing I read last time" I'm not trying to be a dick or say "HEY GET TO WORK!!" I am seriously asking if this is still in development or if Strobel gave up or what. |

As a fan game the work is steady but slow. Mike can not set a specific date but we hope for a playable version in months, not years. You will be able to play online with your friends. (Assuming you have friends.  ) The AI has to wait for the coding of all the game features that an AI will control. If you are tired of waiting you could find something to do to help.

A feeling we all more or less share lordtarl. I was told of a really good young programmer like mstrobel and tried to contact him to see if he could help. Too busy - no can do. Sigh... I'm about to take a C++ course myself. It's not that Mike isn't doing wonders in his spare time - he surely is. Even duplicating the old game would take time, but we the community keep coming up with new ideas to ADD to it.  I feel your pain Bashir |

We really are working on the game, lordtarl. I've actually got several development builds on my computer right now, so I have the evidence to prove it, but at the same time I can't release them because they are development builds that were never intended for general release. Most people wouldn't even be able to load them up anyways without first installing some hefty updates to .Net and .XNA, amongst other things. One of the many things we are/need to work on is ways to allow people to play the game without needing such major updates. These things take time, along with the myriad of other things that need to be done. Not to mention interference from our personal lives. Stuff like this takes time. We apologise how long it seems to people since the last update, but we simply haven't got enough resources to work any faster, and that's precisely why we're always on the lookout for more help. The more hep we get, the faster progress will be. So do you have any spare time? |

Actually we just post a lot and never really do any work on the game.
