woah, great job, Jean! Now the only thing missing might be a link to the forums here in order for the visitor of this brand-new site to leave feedback to Mike and discuss stuff. Might be good to place it right next to News in the above row.
Edit: Ah, I've seen it, the link in the news page. Well it might also be a good idea to make it like I mentioned above with that more visible link in that row..

Nice, well structured layout and information.
One thing though is that the background texture, though nice idea to use the map from the game, i don't think it quite works aswell as the background to the website. Just a thought though, otherwise GREAT JOB!
Regards Wolfe

I've had the same thoughts; the current image is a bit too "in your face"; if the map background from Supremacy was used, that would certainly make the site look nicer and more in keeping wih Supremacy. Good work though, Jean!

BOTF2.com is the sharepoint site, Jig, and Startreksupremacy.com apparently no longer exists, so as far as know, Jean's site is the only one.

I had originally created a minimal site at startreksupremacy.com, hosted by Zach, but I never updated it. I recently moved it over to new servers because I needed a Windows server instead of a Linux server. Jean recently offered to maintain a site for Supremacy, so that's what you see now at startreksupremacy.com. botf2.com is the SharePoint site where we host game content for all the BotF2 projects, and it's not going away anytime soon (unless I die and fail to pay the bills).

Nice work on the webpage, but the background does hurt the eyes a bit when reading.

Don't forget that you can download the game itself from Here, Anguille, but there is currently no AI so it isn't much of a 'game'. But as you can see in the video, the interfaces look absolutely fantastic.

I think i will wait until the AI is done...i am in no hurry and am just happy that Botf2 is becoming a reality...so many projects have been abandonned before. Cheers

From http://www.startreksupremacy.com/features.html: Quote: Eventually your going to come across races that are not too friendly. The Klingons, The Romulans, etc., they all may try to test your resolve. They will test your metal and see if you can defend your own. Will you be able to lead your ships into victory ... or will your defenses crumble and your people conquered.
You will be in charge of the fleet... commanding dozens to hundreds of ships against enemies that may outnumber you. You must use various tactics and skills to defeat them
Be sure to develop your skills ... as their are mysteries and terrors that will challenge your very existance. Should be: Eventually, you're going to come across races that are not too friendly. The Klingons, the Romulans, etc. may all try to test your resolve. They will test your mettle and see if you can defend your own... ...as there are mysteries and terrors that will challenge your very existence. Don't know if this is helpful; if so, great. If not, disregard. It's still a beautiful looking game and I can't wait to play future builds.

I'll give Jean a nudge. He doesn't visit very often though so it might be a bit difficult.

In an excuse to get my hands dirty with Silverlight, I actually started working on a new website for Supremacy. I have to wait for the release of Silverlight 3.0 before anyone can view it, though.

Ooh it's nice to se the LCARS on the site. I always thought that it seemed wierd that the game interface was so clean and LCARS-y but the site looked completely different. Roll on Silverlight 3.0.

Those LCARS buttons on the side menu are the exact same buttons used in the Supremacy menu screen.

The preview look really nice!!! However, I wonder if one will need silverlight just to browse the site? I remember I couldn't view some M$ sites without installing some crappy M$ app.

I remember I couldn't view some M$ sites without installing some crappy M$ app. Silverlight is essentially Microsoft's version of Flash (this, of course, being a very general description). That would explain the need to download and install a MS plugin/app of some sort. But, there are some neat advantages to Silverlight, one of which Mike already explained: mstrobel wrote: Matress_of_evil wrote: Ooh it's nice to se the LCARS on the site. Indeed, when I visited the new page it asked me to download the crappy M$ app: http://www.startreksupremacy.com/newsit ... dPage.xamlHowever, as Mike said it's not yet available. To my humble opinion while it's convenient to reuse some stuff you have, it is very inconvenient to force people to download plugins just to browse the site. Just my 2 cents...

I don't think it's much of a problem. Loads of websites use Flash, so it's one of the first things I install on my computer. If Microsoft are pushing the use of Silverlight, then i'm sure lots of other websites will use it too, not just Supremacy. And besides, you only have to install it once. Most people that visit the Supremacy website will actually *want* to view it, so i'm sure they will put up with the minor inconvenience of installing it. And if i'm right about other websites using it, people may even already have it installed before they visit the Supremacy website for the first time.
