@Eschew_obfuscation: Correct, there is no opponent AI in single player yet, so the computer will not build any ships for you to combat.

Any idea as to what's causing the hangs? It's a little wearisome when you're really forging ahead with your research and colonization, only to be brought low by an error.
This isn't an attack, the game as it is is of a high quality. Getting over the hanging hurdle would be great.

I love going out and just grabbing all the land I can. It's great you don't have to terraform each planet one by one before colonizing it like in BoTF1, speeds it up a lot.

it should be n even mix.
like you can chose to colonize evrey planet or jus colinize a few in a system. and the terraforming should stay, but it shouldnt take turns, it should take resources depending on how fast you want it done.

Let the game download and apply the latest update and see if the hanging issue is still prevalent...

So far, I'm on turn 122 and other than a few pauses when a summary screen comes up or a new breakthrough in research is announced, I haven't had any freezes yet.
It is getting slow to process though (not surprising if you look at the picture I took of my empire, it's huge!) but it's still chugging along nicely, good job!
Also, could you pass along my appreciation to whoever made the main map screen music, it sounds beautiful. I wish I could say the same of the main menu music though, I can't stand it.
It's too pompous for me.
Just a quick thought, would it be possible for the sector a friendly ship is in to pulse white so we can find it easily when we have the map zoomed far out? It would be a time saver instead of looking around for that one ship in an empire full of them.
*EDIT* Little update, I've gone past 300 so I'd say the hanging problem is gone (for me at least) just wanted to point out a few spelling mistakes I spotted for the research data imaging. The title itself is misspelt "Imagining" instead of imaging (might be wrong on that one, not sure) and the first two words of the upgrade "Wuth thus" instead of "With this"
On the Protein resequencer too, "While the complexity of the result *if* often criticised" instead of "is" On Commerce Centre "Transactions cna" instead of "Transactions can"

The techs are something that can't be fixed with the editor - but they are in a human-readable file - en.txt, which is located in your Supremacy/Resources/Strings folder. I've just done a spell-check and it found about 50 typos, which i've now corrected. I have absolutely no idea what the "Rova; tp" typo was about, so I completely rewrote the tech description to make sense. I've done the same for a small number of others techs that I didn't like the descriptions for. Seeing as this isn't a file that is editable by the editor, i'm not sure how well Supremacy will be able to handle the change. I'll try testing it and if it works i'll add it as part of my updates for Mike. Oh, and thanks to Dafedz, expect some fantastic new structure images when my updates are complete.

I'm onto turn 400 now and only *just* found the Cardassians (I'm on the huge universe) it's pretty slow but not as bad as late game BoTF1, you've done a great job here ^_^
*Edit* The very latest update provided has caused a return of the hanging issue. Although on a new game, I've gotten no hanging.

OK, it turns out that I made a mistake when publishing the last update, so it was actually downloading files from an earlier version. Try the latest update and see if the hanging issue is resolved.
@Attraia: Thanks for sending me a save game file so I could reproduce the issue. You should be able to load the save game you sent me and continue it now.

Mike, it looks like you've increased the font size in the latest version - coz ALL of the text in the game is now several points larger than it used to be and *some* of the boxes - but not all - have increased in size to accomodate this. The boxes that haven't increased in size are now too small to display all of the information, making it impossible to see any of your Empire stats etc. anymore, or it simply messes up the formatting. Could you put it back to how it was, please? The menu-options-behind-the-menu bug has returned as well - and it doesn't appear to be random anymore. I've tried reloading the game six times now and it's happened every time. Also, when the game was performing the update, a new map was actually generated in the background, and the downloading/installing was really slow. Perhaps the new game order should be cancelled when an update is being performed? It also looks like the en.txt file that I sent to you last night isn't included in the most recent update, coz "Rova ;tp" has returned.

Whoops. Actually, I didn't change the font size--I accidentally broke the way fonts are loaded, so it's not loading the correct fonts. I'll fix it this weekend. As a temporary measure, you can get the correct fonts back by copying the files in the "Resources\Fonts" folder into the Fonts Control Panel in Windows.
The typo corrections you sent me aren't included in the update because it's not actually a new update. It's the update that was supposed to be published on June 9. I had originally set it up wrong, so it was downloading older files instead.

Ah, must've misread your post. I thought I downloaded an update for the broken update. ... Now that you've got an auto-updater, what are you going to do about the datestamp for this thread? It already looks like there's been no updates for weeks, even though there have been quite a few...

I just posted a new update that should fix the font problem, as well as crash issues when clicking Retire or Exit from the main menu. Matress, your typo corrections are on my work laptop, so they'll have to go out in a later update (sorry).

There seems to be a bug wherein I activate the Mining Corps and one turn later I would find it had de-activated itself. I've got more than the 40 energy required to keep it on line. The Naming of ships too only last one turn.
Would it be possible that we can change the names of Planets and whole Systems as well as ships like in Sins of A Solar Empire?

A- Ok the .net sp1 wasn’t installed correctly now the game works thank you.
B- I too have the same issue where structures power down after being activated the following turn.
C- if one square sector of territory is claimed for every 100 population, then how come it’s limited to 3 square sectors. I mean a 400 population system still claims 3 squared sectors.
D- Are the energy levels and or energy requirements final because it’s really difficult to power structures even in the home system the labor units and the energy production should be tweaked
E- In diplomacy screen under demands there should be a demand choice of forfeiting territories that are disputed.
F- Is it possible to view all the planets in the empire and their status as in food, moral, current item in build list, energy, and act? As it would make things allot simpler. as the empire establishes new territory and new systems are joined it became bit lengthy to keep track of all the systems and what is being build where and even if the system build list is empty. I notice you do get a status message about the planetary build list is empty but it was over seen a few times.
Over all an awesome and fresh experience playing the game ... GREAT WORK every one involved. !!

StarWars, please don't put all those exclamation marks and emoticons in a post; you broke the forum formatting by doing that. I've edited your post to reduce it to non-breaking levels.
Please check your PM's. I have sent you installation instructions. Let us know if you have any problems.
