What do you think about this picture about a kind of ship specification for another understanding of the ship? (made with Paint Brush)

I never like it to do math to calculate ship power, this way is much simpler and clearer. |

The way we describe ship specifications is likely to change a bit once work begins on the combat system. I'd recommend not thinking too much about this sort of thing just yet. |

Nonetheless, I like the graphic, Starfleet! |

Is there going to be an over all power rating on ships? For example 1-10 |

We've used power ratings in Dafedz's database, but these represent the maximum damage output a single ship of that class can do on a single turn *if* it were to fire ALL of its weapons at the same time. This is purely for comparison reasons however, and IF we decide to include weapons arcs in the combat system (Assuming it is possible to actually do so) then it would be impossible for a ship to fire every weapon at the same time anyways, because not all weapons will be pointing at the enemy at the same time. Since number of weapons x weapons damage = big numbers, they certainly aren't on a scale of 1 - 10. The Dominion Messiah class Battleship III for instance has a power of 1980. |
