I would like to throw the idea out there. Basically, the idea behind this is if you intel steal an enemy ship, doesnt matter what kind, you can have the option to reverse engineer it. Say, if you are on level 6 across the board, and you steal a ship with level 7 requirements, you can maybe click a button to reverse engineer it. Now, this completely destroys the ship, but if the process is successful (or partially successfull as a matter of %age) you can either select a tech field to bump to level 7 (biotech, energy, etc) OR choose to be able to build that specific ship for your empire to use. Of course, you could just use the ship as it is as well. Also, it should cost some credits to put into process of reverse engineering. Maybe 500 credits for a Fast attack, 1000 for a Cruiser, 1500 for a Command, and 2000+ credits for an Outpost or Starbase (see previous idea about comandeering starbases during/before battle in this forum) Just a thought for you guys, looking forward to seeing the game finished |

That is a interesting idea. I am sure there will be strong opinions that some will relish in fighting over. Still it is interesting and may lead us somewhere.

This was always a gap in the Star Trek Story line. Why weren't there more Federation scientific breakthroughs based on what they learned from equipment captured from other races? |

I guess one obvious example is Voyager... |

Nicely written. Steal that technology... |
