you need to play against human players . Anyway we had people on our boards who won mainly by using intel to destroy enemy ai players, so you might consider a slight change of your workers' allocation next time you play a round .

If the Cartare were playable I'd probably have tested out super intel with them.

hm, the Rotharians aren't that bad either at this (given the Synergetics Institute and stuff) .

That's what I'm trying right now. Although the Omega Alliance has decided that its main battlefleet needs target practice.

I managed to crush the Coalition, but I couldn't do anything against the Cartare.

in your alpha4 version, the Cartare and the Omega Alliance still don't have their "special buildings" like the Reeducation Center for example, so usually, especially the Cartare are the weakest race in-game. However, they have the best intel output at their regular intel facilities so yes, it's very hard to get through their inner security though they still lack their Cartare Order building .

I've found that the Rotharians tend to be the first race to be wiped out.

actually that should be the Cartare but you're right, the Rotharians can only survive if they are either extremely lucky or left alone until they reached tech 6. Then they usually start to pose an equally-measured threat to the others because then their special abilities show off .

+ to add one building to the build list. - to add demolish one building to build list. ^ to add upgrade to build list, green you can upgrade, red you can't. resources green - resource present in system and planet with it on colonized. yellow - resource present in system and planet with it on not colonized. red - resource not present in system morale current permanent system bonus [holo cinema, private farm] temporary faction bonus [lose a battle, build a new colony] I'm sure you can make it look better.

Here's a quick mock up of my ship design screen I think it should cost a certain amount of Credits to make a design, less to make a refit. Ships can only be refitted at your homeworlds shipyard4. Might be too complex.

I'm not fully happy with the special buildings part yet. Most systems will only have about half so I'm thinking of a system that stretches like the worker panel.

Removed the + and -. I'm thinking Left click and right click on the name, eg FOOD would = +1 or -1 farm added to the list. Light Grey = buildable Dark Grey = unbuildable
