Ooh purdy...

I can post a news item about it if you want, Mal. You know more about BotE than I do, so do you fancy writing it up?

our german forums have moved due to the old one address gone lost due to a broke hoster to this new host: http://www.forum.birth-of-the-empires.de

We had to spend a lot of time on resetting the forums so the new release will be delayed a bit.

Want me to post a news item for it Mal?

Just give me a quick overview of any info you want in there.

thanks, it's just for info here, no need for additional news item. When 5.1 is released I'll write something up for front page :).

Post subject:  BotE on German computer magazines

Chip is a large German computer magazine and they accepted us in their community download area here: http://download.chip.eu/de/Birth-of-the ... 81498.html

Their résumé is nice (I translate it in english): "A well-done game for space strategy fans".

Wow, congrats to the BotE team!

It's nice to see official recommendations for one of our projects, especially one that has the potential to be seen by thousands of people!

For those of you that want to read the webpage but can't read German, click Here for an English translation. It's not perfect, but it's the best translation service that I know of.

If you want Mal, I can post this as a news item. It would push the 5.1 release announcement item down the page if I do though. Let me know what you think, and if you want it, draft a news item for me.

yeah, it's quite cool ;).

I'm actually waiting for them to update their english website too (http://www.download.chip.eu/en). They somehow haven't found out yet that this installer is multilanguage so they said the version is german-only but I must admit it ain't easy to find out installer language is simultaneously determining game language too ;).

I'd wait with the news item until that if that's okay.

P.S.: maybe someone here wants to remind them, it's actually quite easy to write a comment or recommend new software there after registering.

heise.de, publisher of another million-reader magazine has added BotE to their software database:

hopefully they write a review sometime about the game or include it into their yearly software dvd games collection with their magazine.. ;)

Nice mate, i've got my fingers, arms, legs and eyes crossed for you!

In connection with my previous post here, you don't need to follow my link anymore if you use Google Chrome; a recent update added an automatic translator. Chrome now scans every webpage you visit, and if it finds you're on a page that isn't in your default language, it will ask whether you want it to translate it or not. The page reloads instantly if you let it translate it too, and the translator is actually extremely accurate, although teh translations don't necessarily make any sense in English lol. But this is yet another reason why Chrome should be the only browser you use.

BotE has been added to a large german magazine's cover-dvd as one of 100 so-called "super games". The magazine is called "ComputerBild Spiele": http://www.computerbild.de/cbs/.

In their current printed magazine, there is a short few-lined introduction to the game with some pictures, unfortunately not on their website. Also there's of course an entry on their dvd menu:
