Changes:

- Security reports can now be sorted via different parameters (in ascending or descending)
- But can never gain experience
- For negative credits may no longer be built warships
- Building the x-can be built only once per empire or only from a certain race to be removed during system acquisition (eg, distributors)
- If you are affiliated with a Minor Race that can build ships, their system will have a shipyard when they join you
- Troops with troops and descriptions come from StringTable.txt (language dependent)
- Work assignment bars are now displayed slightly rounded off
- Destroyed Empire (human and AI controlled) are now properly removed
- Event in first contact increased font size for breed description
- Increases to maximum Tooltipwidth 300px
- Research at game start a little slower, afterwards a little faster

AI:
- Combat AI implemented
- In assessing the dangerousness of sectors go defensive strengths of vessels is an only half
- The less Terraform options are available, the higher Außenpostenbauprioritäten
- Maneuverability is now relatively strong in the evaluation of offensive and defensive strengths ship
- System-AI largely improved
- War is declared only when really militarily stronger

Bugfixes:
- On ship dismantling ships were not in the fleet added to the Shiphistory
- Ship orders are correctly reset on completion of terraforming, colonization and Substations for all vessels involved
- First contact in event was not for lack of the graphic image displayed in the absence of graphics
- Fixed buffer overflow in internal security points and negative bonuses in the calculation Intel
- Fixed bug when undoing the racial acquaintance between two races (always made known)
- Bug fix in the calculation of the fight beam attack
- Fixed error in the copy constructor and assignment operator for ships
- Are in stock now negative Credit not grant credit huge gifts by diplomacy offer
- Are selected for terraforming planets no longer shown as a straight terra formed when the command changes
- Pointer to display a tooltip does not change now
- Fixed a bug in the display of fleet names of minor race ships

Internal code:
- Optimization of struggle calculation (Performance +)
- Built-in function to the overall chance of winning calculation
- New generic function for drawing a ship (view, view fleet, fight view)
- New general function to clear vessels (and thereby also to be noted that Fleet)
- General function to add new ships to Shiphistory list
- New general function for calculating the required laps for a construction project
- Internal Star Maps (range map) can now be created for individual race
- Star maps are calculated at a central location once and not at various points during next round ()
- New virtual Close () function for event screens (what happens when you close a screen event)
- Static Font object for sector labels no longer needed
- Modified post-frequent increments of iterators in pre-incrememtents (Performance +)
- Implemented in some parts missing const correctness
- Technically revised fleet menu code
- Mouse overs and redraw drastically in all views of the ships
- Pre_increments wherever possible and memset programmed more safely

- Scroll bars are hidden by default in the galaxy view

- Implemented scrolling with the left mouse button in galaxy view
- Tech level in organic, energy and construction technology to give 2% bonus on each production
- Systems of resources distribution in system overview marked (* before resource)
- Implemented more tech level (plus possible future technologies)
- Bribe resistance implemented
- Tooltips implemented many other
- Ships of unknown breeds appear anywhere, anytime with a question mark icon
- Trade routes always generate a minimal credit (previously also possible NULL)
- Minor performance optimizations
- Fixed some bugs


    Some references on game controls:

  • Options menu bar is by default hidden. You need to move your mouse to the upper left edge of the screen to make it show up. There you can save and/or quit a game.
  • Fleets can be selected by clicking on the race icon on galaxy map in the respective sector. Then on the lower panel on screen the available fleets and ships are shown. Three clicks are needed, first on galaxy map race symbol in the upper right corner of the sector in question, then one left-mouse-click on the ship/fleet in fleet panel below on screen, then on the sector you wish to fly into.
  • Left-click and drag will let you quickly move and scroll around galaxy map. Also, using mouse-wheel, you can zoom in and out of map. Cursors and extra mouse buttons can be used to quickly switch between systems in build menu view.

I've already downloaded it from the German forums and am currently installing it. As a side note, the default installation folder is the same as Alpha 5.1, so you might want to change it if you don't want to overwrite your previous install.

Hope you don't mind SirP, but i've edited your post to add in the new download link. I also fixed a couple of typos and tidied up your post, as well as making it a global post so it appears in all forum sections.

Yes, but only if there's a previous installation of the game - but mknote's is right: You should install in a new folder, especially i think, Alpha5-sav's are not compatible with Alpha6.

Well some of it still doesn't make sense to me. Anything that I didn't understand I just left as-is in case it was correct and I just didn't understand it.

well - there's a spelling mistake in the German Imperiumsnachrichtenübersicht - it's ingame: Empire/news and information

I've found in moralevent.data #21 extinction. According to this it's the extinction of a minor race. In the german changelog in this line and the line above it's twice "race". the line above "destruction of a race" accords to me to moralevent.data #0 fall of a empire

I made a list of what's still missing of the "grand" features in-game (can also be used as a starting point for community contributions):

  • colored start menu
  • galaxy creation parameter settings
  • AI building troops and managing them for invasion and defence purposes (hence no AI-led invasions or invasion defence yet)
  • 3D battles
  • Random events and alien ships type "Cristalline entity" or "Gomtuu"
  • in-game encyclopedia and tutorials
  • some kind "Borg-like" race
  • minor race fleet movement AI
  • have some minors act like "medium" race, i.e. expanding to nearby habitable star systems and maybe even invade other systems (then mostly at the beginning when majors are weak(er) than those minors
  • Windowed-mode for bote (right now it's just full-screen)
  • formula for crew experience gain after a battle
  • artwork (UI menu design) for our sixth race, the Omega-Alliance (thus greyed-out and not playable yet)

Excellent game so far. I just have some suggestions. Rename the race "Bosniacs" there will be a lot of european players and a lot will recognize that they are named after Bosniacs - people from Bosnia.

I would recommend different Insignia for the Coalition. If you want I can try to design something.

More colorful ships, almost all are gray. The equivalent of the Klingons and the Romulans could have green, the Cartare yellow...

A lot of Gas giants are not very realistic, I can try and make you some more realistic images if you want.

Overall excellent game. I can't wait for the final version, I just hope that Supremacy will get close to this level soon.

Great. Your gas giants look very good! I think we use them and replace some older ones.

But the insigna symbol doesn't look good ingame. You can test it. You only have to replace "MAJOR1.bop" (is a png graphic bop = png, boj = jpg) in Graphics\Symbols with your one. Size should be 200x200px. And the other problem is, that we use our current symbols in many parts of the terran skin. So it isn't easy to replace a symbol.

Well Sir P and Mal FAB release so far. :thumbsup: :thumbsup: It is solid and runs well. Really a million times better than BOTF ever was until the mods came rolling out. And your still in the Alpha stage. One thing I noted though was when a system leaves an empire or the empire falls you cant conquer that system anymore. I did in the other alphas you had out I think. Its just i cant do anything with those systems and it looks odd in the game when its just my empire and 1 more left and we cant take the system laying there doing nothing. :brickwall: Capital systems included. Can or will you fix this?

I'm quite sure that somebody is already working on that problem Paddy. Thank you for pointing to that problem.

Just wanted to ask everyone when are we going to put out a new update? The last one is quite old and we have done a lot of work in the meantime.

a new update? for birth of the empires? the actual is quite new (jan 23 this year)

But I know SirP is working for the Alpha6.1 - but there's no release date known.

For Supremacy the last update was quite a long time ago, but that's stuff for a threat there :winkthumb:
