Loving the depth you are putting into the game as it developes.

Playing through Alpha 6 and found my first wormhole.
Built starbases to get to it, but not possible to pass through yet.

Is this because I have to research a technology to allow passage through wormholes, or has the code not been written into the game yet?

If it's technology, what are the requirements?

in-game the tooltip says the required tech has not been developed yet but it's more the bote coding technology than in-game one . well, it is not yet implemented to fly through wormholes. As far as I remember it is thought of having a borg-like race come through the wormholes with reinforcements, similar to the Dominion in Star Trek. It is not yet thought through in depth though. I can also not say whether or when ships will be able to pass through, it would be difficult for the AI to cope with this new strategic element in-game since then the AI would need to fortify wormholes within his reach to secure homeland. It would be interesting though for human multiplayer-only matches.

It belongs to the things that someone from the outside could try to code, since it is not on top-priority list right now unfortunately.
