Is there still a minor race editor out there (and does it work with alpha 6.1)?

also if I turn off the restriction of building minor race ships on their homeworld (in the ship editor), and they're part of your empire then I should be able to build the ships in all worlds, right (after the resarch requirements are done of course)?

minor race editor still works with v0.81 - you can get it here http://bote-forum.square7.ch/wiki/index ... raceEditor

don't forget to delete the first 4-5 characters ("0.81") and add it again at the end. the fifth character must be a LF (line feed).

ship restriction - well I don't know - just try it. Thinking about it brings me to: maybe only in this system the special requirements exists for building these ships - don't be afraid if it doesn't work.

SirP wrote in the german forum http://bote-forum.square7.ch/phpBB3/vie ... 681#p23084 that it won't work building minor ships in another system as the specified minor system (by erasing "only buildable in" ). Ships won't be buildable in the whole game...I think, it's a effect of race "minor".

..but he got the request if * would solve this  (in one of the next versions.

If a major race subjugates a minor, is it still necessary to build the communication grid to avoid loosing the minor after bribing by another major ?

well...it's always to advise - com grid is one building block to avoid loosing minors. But you wrote about a subjugated minor - here I can't remember a loose because it's subjugated and has no free choice. Don't know atm subjugated minors behavior when morale is very deep - maybe impact if rebelliously.

reg, your english is sometimes quite funny, you can virtually hear the german words behind it.. no offence of course ;)

so what he meant is that it's always recommended to have it built and up and running. so far so good, but as you said there is no real treaty to be bribed out of, so bribing won't have any effect. It can only have an effect when there is a mutual treaty of either membership or something below.

Ok, this confirms what I assumed, but since the building was still in the build list of the subjugated minor race, I had some doubts ...

There's some small issues when using MinorRaceEditor 1.2 with BotE Alpha6.1 ...

The Graphicfilename and Racedescription fields display each others' data. So the lengthy description text is displayed in the smaller field, it's more difficult to read or edit.

When first opening MinorRaceEditor, it displays "0.8" (old MinorRaces database version number?) in the Homesystemname field for the first race (Adamar). Homesystemname is blank for all other races.

Changing any of the MinorRace data sometimes causes errors during gameplay. Sometimes these errors do not occur until first contact between a minor and one of the majors; I think there's an error in the MinorRaceEditor offsets or something because the entire database is often corrupted in seemingly random places.

Does the MinorRaceEditor need to be updated to accomodate new data structures? Is there a simple fix?

I've gone through your open sourcecode, but I unfortunately cannot read German so all your variables, comments, etc are meaningless to me.
