    Some references on game controls:

  • Options menu bar is by default hidden. You need to move your mouse to the upper left edge of the screen to make it show up. There you can save and/or quit a game.
  • Fleets can be selected by clicking on the race icon on galaxy map in the respective sector. Then on the lower panel on screen the available fleets and ships are shown. Three clicks are needed, first on galaxy map race symbol in the upper right corner of the sector in question, then one left-mouse-click on the ship/fleet in fleet panel below on screen, then on the sector you wish to fly into.
  • Left-click and drag will let you quickly move and scroll around galaxy map. Also, using mouse-wheel, you can zoom in and out of map. Cursors and extra mouse buttons can be used to quickly switch between systems in build menu view.

I assume that this has yet to be implemented as I haven't expanded enough yet to find any suprises

Also, I would imagine that the goal of creating "medium" races is easier down grading a major race, than upgrading a minor race, as far as the code writing goes.

Keep up the good work.

SirP said he would descripe in nearer future how to implemente further major races although they wouldn't be playable. AI will play them. The game is made ready for it. (with little changes of yourself than you can change a majorrace 7 or 8 into Major 1-6. But only for Major 1-6 skins, own buildings, ship etc. are avaible)

the original game itself further will provide playing five (later six) major races.

after last crash I hope our homepage will be restarted soon ...well it's restarted under http://www.hp.birth-of-the-empires.de but not activated. But it's only our visiting card, with not too much content. Content you can find at http://www.wiki.birth-of-the-empires.de. Both are easy google-translateable.

For German speakers there's also the BotE-main forum www.forum.birth-of-the-empires.de

Post subject:  Re: Birth of the Empires Alpha 6.1 Released

Hi.

As the last update was last May, I was wondering.......... Is there any further update available after Alpha 6.1 (internal version 0.81) planned for any time soon?

I only play single player due to time constraints, (I only get about 20 mins here or there these days) and without planetary conquest single player very quickly becomes a "who can populate the most planets quickest" game.

Regards

Mike

Thanks for the update Reg.

Don't want to come across as mithering, but if you don't ask, you don't get.

Sometimes even when you ask, you don't get either.

Can you pass on my best wishes and gratitude for the ongoing work to our hard working friends on the German forum.
