Here is the download (game is in english though download site is german): http://www.heise.de/download/birth-of-the-empires.html

Major improvements over the previous versions:

  • startscreen
  • Alien entities
  • random events
  • omega alliance playable
  • different galaxy sizes and shapes
  • new troop types

Well, I stepped out for a while, and there's a new release! I'm just about to start playing, but I can see already a few things I really like and one thing I really don't, but I'll save that for later. The only thing I might request is an English changelog.
