Hmm, that would solve one point out of two.
But the other point is:
Make the map canon and balanced:
I saw in some games, that the dominion had only a few, less populated systems avaible around and the federation systems were a bulk of massive populated systems. This COULD be an outcome of a random seed and I want to delete the possability that this could happen.
So I would like to manually set up a map where I can place systems, planets, bonus for the planets, dilithium, raw materials, special objects, minor races startpoints etc and the press the key "save map" and continue this work another day when I have more time.
Problem:
I'm not very fit with the canon story, because I let out "the classic series, the series with Archer and the last 1/3 of Voyager". I watched TNG and DS9 and the first 2/3 of Voyager. And it is about... 7 yeas that I watched an epsiode of star trek (excludet the movies)
So I dont think that I have the background knowlege for doing this. I may can set up a minor race free map and after that, someone else will include them manually and will change the systems a little bit so that they fit more the minor race. But THEN I need to coordinate this with the other one and there might be other intentions.
So for example: I place on every 8'th system a dilithium point. The one who puts in minor races will set up a minor race there. But my intention on placing a dilithium point there was maybe, that the PLAYER should get this system.
So, something like a marker for a notice for every system would be nice. This means:
- I need an editor
- I need a laot of backgorund information
- I need a save-able map that can be freely edited
- I need to make notations
- I need the ability to place minor races into a system (maybe with backgound informations for habitation status: Like M- ideal / L comfortable... for each minor race)
.. and maybe some points I forgot.
So, in order to make a map editor availble, I think it is too much work for mike... is'nt it?
