Forums loose 3 days?

Did the forums just roll back 3 days? seems you lost the 25th, 26th and part of the 27th... posts that were here are now gone.

Damn, I thought it was only one day that was lost, not three. We've added a new site to our servers - Star-trek-mods.com. With the impending demise of Filefront, we needed a place to store all the hundreds of mods and files that have been developed for the different Star Trek games that have been released. Now that the site is set up, people are frantically downloading the files so that they can be uploaded to this new site, so nothing is lost when Filefront goes offline.

Unfortunately, to create and install the the new site, the servers for the forums had to be shut off before a forum backup could be made. So when the servers were switched on, they loaded up their most recent backup; which was from three days ago. Anything newer than that has therefore been lost. :(

So this is the new site that these forums are hosted on now?

Star-trek-mods.com is being hosted on the BOTF2 forum servers - which are being paid for by Jigalypuff who is a prominent member of the modding community. Whilst the forums and new mod site are technically separate websites, they are linked by those servers. These forums won't hold download links or host the mod files, but Star-trek-mods.com does because that is the whole point of it. So if you ever want to download a trek mod for a game in future, then check out the new site. :)

Ohhh I see, ok I thought the reason these forums were down was that they had been taken down and had been moved to a new server to be hosted on.

Actually that's whats GOING to happen. The servers are being upgraded over the next few days because we're expecting our bandwidth and server requirements to shoot up now that we have the new site. Filefront officially closes today, so today marks both a sad farewell and a new beginning.
