new update is great much more playable its only frozen twice in 378 turns, first time i tried to use the Tellar starship construction complex and second when i sent the maximum messages to other races two turns in a row

Hey Teeside, welcome to the forums!  What exactly do you mean about "the new update"? The long-awaited after-Easter update hasn't been released yet. If you're referring to the fact that you downloaded the game a while ago and just downloaded the latest version, then the new update was actually released at Christmas. That's why it's got a Christmas tree as the game logo.  Thanks for the feedback though. We know of the random freeze bug, in fact it is the best-known bug in the game. We're hoping that the after-Easter update will finally squash it and several other bugs once and-for-all. I've done some testing on some beta releases of the update and I haven't encountered any freezes, so with any luck it really has finally been squashed. Oh, before you ask, no, we don't know when the after-Easter update will be released. We originally called it the Easter update, but Mike, the developer, has been swamped by his job and has been unable to work on the game. So unfortunately the release date has been pushed back until Mike has cleared his backlog, and we don't know how long that will be. The game has a built-in auto updater that checks for updates every time you play it though, and we'll post announcements on the forums about the release as well when it happens. So don't worry, you'll get it as soon as it is released.

downloaded it 2 weeks ago but it auto updated 1 file 3 days ago which seemed to stop the random freeze, except for the 2 in the original post! |
