In the String folder, in the "en.txt" file [RA_NAME_MULTIFRQUENCY_BEAMS] Must be modified and become [RA_NAME_MULTIFREQUENCY_BEAMS] Multifrequency Beams [RA_DESC_MULTIFREQUENCY_BEAMS] Shields are least effective when their resonance frequency is the same as the frequency of the incoming beam; this same effect allows our starships to fire through our shields at enemy targets without causing damage to those shields. Multifrequency beams increase the likelihood of such an effect occuring against enemy starships by operating on several simultaneous frequencies. This maximises the probability that part of the beam will match the harmonics of enemy shield systems, therefore inflicting additional shield damage. It is possible that such beams may even bypass enemy shields altogether. Same thing for these words: [RA_NAME_QUADTRONICS] Quadtronics [RA_DESC_QUADTRONICS] Modern interphasic stabilizers allow the familiar duotron to be augmented by two more electrons in a perpendicular phase axis. The resulting unit is known as a 'Quaditron', which has led to the use of the term 'Quad' as a unit of data. (technology seen in original BOTF) ______________________________________________________________________________________ ![]() The text definition not appear. There is a bug. ------------------------------------------------------------ ![]() ![]() The arrows indicate that the expressions do not appear in any text file for their translation ------------------------------------------------------------ ![]() As in the original BOTF, the logic wants that when we meet a major empire, there is a message of "greetings" and also the minor races have a diplomatic report, but the text above is the same that of the menu selection of the empire. I think that it should be only in the menu selection of the empire. |

I already know about the tech problems, and in fact have fixed the Multifrequency beams problem. But I can't for the life of me figure out *why* it is happening for the Quadtronics and Gravitron techs. I know what is causing the problem, and i've fixed it in my own game files, and yet when I load up the game it displays buggy again. I'll need to speak to Mike about it. ... If any text is "missing" from the game files, it's probably hard-coded in programming somewhere. As the game is still under development, it's inevitable that things like this would happen. The diplomacy is one of the newest areas of the game, and I know of a couple of typos and duplications in the diplomacy text. It's possible the Federation first contact message is one of those duplications. Mike told me not to make any changes there because that section of the game is so new, so I haven't since bothered looking for any more issues on the diplomacy messages. |

In the Klingon Great Hall, you missed to add 25% Bribe Resistance E.W among the bonus. Same thing for Dafedz's database. |

Hehe don't worry. I've got backups of my backups! ...Of course, those backups are on an external Seagate harddrive. Idiot me didn't realise it was a Seagate one til I opened the packaging. ![]() Seriously, i've got backups of stuff from years ago. I've actually got six different copies of Supremacy, the last version of Jig's game that he released, Iwulff's flash Database, Iwulff's Map Test, Strings's Combat Demo, and Strings's Model Viewer. We've produced quite a few different things over the years... |

Do you have that photo of my Mom at the Grand Canyon I have been looking for? I thought I backed it up and was hoping you might have it.

Sorry Kenneth, I save game-related stuff only. Unfortunately for you, I'm not the kind of guy that trawls the forums looking to acquire other peoples family photos. ![]() Have you tried using the search users posts function on your profile page? You can use that to look at every post you've ever made on the forums. *Edit - I just did a search for you. No luck searching for "family", "photo", "grand", "canyon", "mom", or "mother".
