Is anyone still having problems with the infinite update bug. I have read the bulletins and tried the posted solution but it doesn't work. (have downloaded and replaced httpdownloader.dll and emptied temporary files). Does anyone know how to fix this? The posts say that if it doesn't work to post a bug report, but it seems nobody else has posted a bug report, so I can only assume it has worked for everyone else. Many thanks in advance. |

If you are talking about what I think you are talking about, you just turn off the updater (uncheck the box for "Always check for updates on startup" under Options). Your question made me notice that it appears that this function might have been removed on the new version that Mike the programmer is working on right now. Hopefully you'll get to see it soon. |

What I mean is... I downloaded the game a few days ago. When I first ran it, it said there were updates available and it went to the download screen. This flashed up really quickly, it appeared not to download anything and then restarted the game. It then continually says that an update is available and does the same thing over and over again (goes to download, says it is updated and asks to restart). The build number appears not to have changed at all (0.4.3427.36588). Do I have the most up to date version or not? I think I sound a bit thick don't I? Thanks. |

There is nothing to update. You have the latest in terms of what is available at the moment. Hense, select "Options" and turn off the updater. The background setup for the updates does not currently exist. |

Welcome Captain and I think Bashir is right. Uncheck the "Always check for updates on startup" option and try to run it again. The next update should resolve this issue. |

I've updated the known bugs thread to include turning off the auto-updater as a final solution to this issue. Hopefully I can rewrite the entire thread once an update is released. |

If either of you are following the Supremacy page On Facebook, we might be releasing an update soon. We have a game version with war, planetary combat, and ship combat (auto-resolved, nothing graphical), but the game is crashing during ship combat. We're tracing what the bug is and will release the game as soon as we can. |
