How to play Supremacy online against your friends and enemies:

1) To join a game you need to have the same game version, build, as the host.

2) It is suggested that you forward port 4455 to your gaming PC.

First you will need to know the local IP address of your gaming computer. To do this from the gaming computer type cmd in the Run field from the windows Star button and enter. This should open the Command Prompt Window, a black window with a flashing cursor. At the cursor type ipconfig and enter. The line that says “IP Address…….: “ has your local network IP address. Write that down.

Next you will need to log into your router. Most routers can be accessed using your internet browser. In the address field at the top of your browser type in the local network IP address for your router.

192.168.1.1 is an IP address normally used by Linksys broadband routers. Some other brands of network routers also use this same address

The IP address 192.168.0.1 is the default for certain home broadband routers, principally various D-Link and Netgear models.

Logging into the router is often defaulted to User Name of Admin and Password Admin. Look for a tab that might say Applications and Gaming. Port forwarding will be for 4455 using TCP and UDP protocols. If asked for a range of ports start and end with 4455. For and IP address enter the local IP address of your gaming PC from above.

note: You may want to fix the local IP for your game PC so the router cannot change it. If you make changes in your network and the IP is assigned by the router could change. You would be able to join a game but not host without the forwarding.

3.) Now for your firewall and port 4455.

A firewall rule for the port 4455 address is also recommended. In your PC's internet security program look for something like "advanced network setting" and add a rule to communicate both into and out from port 4455 using TCP and UDP protocols. The specifics of how to do this depends on your internet security program.

In Norton's Internet Security take setting, network settings, Smart Firewall Advanced Settings - Configure, General Rule - Configure, and add a new rule for to and from communication on the specific port 4455. Again took both TCP and UDP.

4.) Start the game and take Multiplayer. Enter a Player Name that you want for yourself in the game. If you are going to host the game take Host Game, center button at the bottom of the window. Give your internet IP address to your fellow players. One way to find your internet IP address is to Goggle “my IP address”. If you are joining a remotely hosted game enter the IP address of the host in the Direct Connect filed under your name and click the Connect button. After a few seconds you will connect to the hosted game with your name appearing on the server’s list. That or there is still a problem.

(good luck, good gaming)
