Just installed it and had a quick go on today. Damn its some scary ****. Its gona be even more intense when my 5.1 sound system arrives tomorrow or next day lol.

Anyone else played it.

Only thing i dont like so far is teh pistol u get its damn slow at firing and takes loads of shots "4 ish" to kill one of the enemy.

Amazing gfx tho and nice and smooth on ultra details with 4x aa and 16x af and HQ on in nvidia panel.

:)

yeah it does, I remember sitting one night whlst we were meant to be revising for an exam the next day, about 3am, lots of red bull, playing this game. It was completely silent in the room, expecting anything to happen at any time... my m8 opens a can of red bull, scares the utter **** outta us. Its that tense. bloody great.

Yeah, its a great, horribly scary game for the first few hours, but after that it gets so repeditive. It got to the point where I was able to predict exactly when and what monster would jump out. I got so bored I never finished it, but it still is a good game at first.

I was never a fan of DOOM. I dont like games scaring the **** out of me. Movies are fine, but games are different.

i like FarCry... good game.

when ever I host a LAN party (once every 1-2 months) i get Bawls energy drinks. Redbull is too expensive and doesnt last long enough. Bawls tastes great (i love guarana), and it lasts tons longer, plus its much stronger.

redbull is good before tests though. If you want to know why, ill go into a lengthy discussion on why its called Redbull, and why its good before tests.

You big girl! :)

Have to agree with the above though, Doom 3 is fantastic for the first few hours but does get boring too quickly. Farcry is very good, pretty hard but it doesn't beat FEAR in my opionion. The cinematic nature of the game just completely sucks you in and when that little girl runs in front of you in a dark room...

Well let's just say I wish I didn't have a cordless mouse, it might not have gone flying quite as far as mine did...

Persoanly i dont think its scary it jumpy as hell in some parts but meh

Played it online but i dont like the fact that every single leve basicly is in darkness or its hard to see the monsters although i have completed it i dont rely like it to be honest

But playing online with mates is always fun

im too poor to buy most games - plus im busy modeling and animating a 3D movie right now (which is why i havnt updated my model for here yet), and fixing everyones computers.

I used to play Halo CE (PC) and FarCry tons, and now i just play Halo 2 and Call of Duty 2 on LIVE.

Just tryed Doom 3 with my new 5.1 speakers and eax 4 using my audigy 2 zs. Boy does it sound like ur really there. I was amazed at the atmosphere the game enhances with it. So damn cool. Its going to be even cooler when i preoperly play the game as before i just quickly went through and didnt take in much of the game and went straight to the begining of the mahem.

I finished it about 6 months or so ago. I had a crappy video card at the time and it just barely ran...but man was it scary. I remember when I went to the Hell level...my friend was watching (he watched most of the time...didn't want to miss anything....and it scared the pants off me...so I needed support.) and I realized that I had no weapons...and the bubbling lava and stuff...and he said "just run dude", I said "Where?" .... "Straight into the lava!!!"

That was quite funny.

There was one level where I ran through the WHOLE level with the chainsaw. It was a dark level...and that strategy was surprising effective. I could just ram into the tougher monsters before they could do their ranged attacks.

Ahhh...good times.

A really good game, a first person version of silent hill. Some very scary scenery especially towards the end when you go through hell etc... But the ending is terrible, you have to finish the expansion pack as well before you complete the story(A poor ending still)

It seems to be a problem at the moment with games, no one writes good endings for them as not many people can be bothered to finish them.

When i buy a game i like to play it all the way through until it is finished just to appreciate the whole story etc... But more often than not - the endings are a real anit-climax ^_^
