I'm guilty.



Since I first signed up here, i have read the news section maybe 3 or 4 times total. That is just unacceptable. And I am correcting my own mistake.

Reason for this thread is one of the composers who has worked hard to make origional music for our games is dis-heartened by the lack of responce to what he has placed on here for us to listen to and comment on. Now I did today go and tried to listen to said works, but was unable to find it. I may have just missed the correct link, but I'm not sure.

In my selfish way, I have only focused on the game building aspects, ships, planets, races etc. Really we all need to assist (even just with your ears) every part of these projects.

As I said, I"M GUILTY! NO I cannot make music, but I CAN listen and encourage, it is not much but it IS something and it IS Important!

So I just ask everyone to join me.. Read the News section more, listen to the music, and look at other things that are offered there. It IS for us and for the good of all the games.

Becuase there seems to be no place which can funnel you to all that has been made along with recent changes and additions easily, some things can just get lost. I'll admit i hadn't seen this new music until he posted recently saying he may give up, which would be a shame.

I believe his music for BOTF2 can be found on his myspace link near his avatar.

I was shocked to see the news article, actually. I didn't see any mention of using copyrighted music works for the game anywhere (I believe the discussion was on copyright issues with Star Trek franchise in general).

There seems to be some pretty decent feedback in the Musicians Wanted thread. I haven't had a chance to do much posting, let alone any testing... but the few times I've heard tunes, I thought they were pretty good... no complaints.

So... I'm still completely miffed that there's a commotion about the music.

The general (core) problem was something different IMO. It was back then 6 months ago, when the last feedback was given, that there was no real playable alpha from both supremacy nor bote (totally unknown to you guys back then) so in my opinion, the thing just slipped away because there was no game and still a long way to go. That way there was not that overwhelming feedback (like it was now with the snipped sounds from kenneth et al for example) and therefore ericjames just looked for other things to spend his time on.

I think we are now all in a better position so let's just forget all this and move on. I'm more than just interested in hearing those new completed soundtracks from him so I hope he's online someday soon (maybe even tonight) so he can mail the mp3s to jig and we can all finally listen to good music

I'm with you Malovisn. I'm more then ready to hear the sound tracks.

I have heard what Strobel has for his game and that is excellent. So any new music.... Well will be more then welcome!
