Looks like a kind of follow up from Aliens episodes...but as they say, it is not. I'll do my best to see it when it comes to Canada. I like the yellow lighting on their suit though.

If not mistaken it is being sold as a prequel of sorts to the original Alien film. I take it they stop the Aliens from finding Earth before the time of the original film. In keeping with the original film and the genre everyone save maybe one person die a horrible death, oh my.

Indeed, I think it's a prequel all right, but I also remember reading somewhere that they might change a few things in the mythology in order to facilitate the current story. Kenneth_of_Borg wrote: In keeping with the original film and the genre everyone save maybe one person die a horrible death, oh my. That's why they call it a thriller, right?

In the first Alien there was a creature (dead with a hole in it's chest) in the room where all the egg sacks were, that had obviously been the incubator for an alien. It was never explained. If memory serves, the ship it was in is very much like the ship in the Promethius trailer.

Yeah I just noticed that. It is also on the website. The ship is the big c-shaped thing and the 'pilot' is there too.

Good point but... the Aliens maybe fierce predators but as far as I remember they were never portrayed as intelligent and capable of spaceflight. So, who put the marks in all the planets? Obviously not the Aliens if my conclusion applies...

We will see if they rewrite the history around technology and IQ for the aliens. In the original the chest holed guy in his chair looked like bones to me. In the new one, and based on what I recall the director saying, it is a more a suit we see in the new film. Trekmovie gets in on it too: http://trekmovie.com/2012/03/19/2nd-trailer-for-prometheus-written-by-star-treks-damon-lindelof/

@Kenneth: The Prometheus viral campaign with Guy Pearce and Lindelof's idea of using a TED talk was just brilliant In case you are not familiar, TED talks are short 5-10 min talks on any (interesting) topic the speakers want. Have a look here: http://www.ted.com/
