The episode:I agree. Scifi is far too full of flashbacks and altered realities. Start giving us more aliens, more explosions, even more aliens, more action, yet more aliens, more proper character development, hordes of aliens, more discoveries about the ship, armadas of aliens, and more weird anomalies! The plants:I was thinking they looked more along the lines of Triffids. Lt James:You're not the only one that noticed the waitress outfit, picard. Chloe:I've been thinking all along that she's an alien with Chloe's memories. Question is, is the real Chloe still alive? And are we even watching the real Destiny? What if the writers have one of those annoying "it was all a dream" storylines? Scott:I love how they just forgot that they cut open his arm and he had blue blood. Chloe's blood must have healed the wound or he would have bled to death as soon as she cured him. And what will happen now the main military guy is out of action? Chloe and Scott:Here's a weird thought: what if Scott starts transforming into another Chloe...in the literal sense? lol Telford:I was confused about the policeman outfit too. Considering it was meant to be a year earlier, Telford has certainly gone far in the military! Rush:Ok, there's no way he'd be working as a justice of the peace. The whole thing must've been a dream, not a flash back. Eli:Something tells me that he's going to keep pining for Chloe. He's not the sort of guy that learns that sort of thing easily. He's probably either going to look more closely at what is happening to her, or will even try to find a way to communicate with the aliens.

Scott's "flashback" I think they were depicting it as a delirium since Scott was sick. He was putting together the people he knew in a weird way. Obviously Col. Young isn't his father. Lt James: Series: Oh please lets not make the whole thing a dream. That's been done. CB

Thanks for bringing that to my attention MoE! That series was precisely what I was referring to, Picard. I saw it when it was on TV last Christmas. It had surprisingly high production values for a BBC show, although the Triffid graphics were a little on the cheesy side. Computer graphics are something that the BBC usually doesn't do very well. Oddly enough, that reminds me about Sir David Attenborough's new series starting this Friday, ' First Life'. Instead of it being about wildlife in Africa or somewhere like he usually does, it's all about the first life on Earth ever. It's probably going to be a bit like ' Walking with Dinosaurs'. Can't wait.

Ok guys. Unfortunately, I walked into my living room and just HAPPENED to catch the 2 latest episodes of SGU. I'll just keep my opinions to the last episode. Don't want to go all outdated now, right? SO, without further ado... About the plants: oh boy don't they look friendly? Those spores don't kill victims instantly? Oh well, they were a nice plotline anyway About Scott: LOLOL gives a whole new meaning to "seeing your life flash before your eyes" doesn't it? Only, I think it's the life he WISHES he could have. Keep dreaming, Scott About Chloe: Oh boy this storyline is certainly progressing quickly, isn't it? *sarcasm sign* So, Chloe heals quickly, and can solve math problems well above the normal level... well, I think the aliens transfused their blood with hers, to make her... erm... more like them. I doubt they've ever even seen another race before. Anywho, Chloe seems to be safe... for now About Rush: Where to start? Is Chloe becoming too smart for him? Will there be a war between them for control of destiny? He is clearly nuts. He's gotten more paranoid throughout the season. Maybe it's the "genius stuck in a ship" syndrome that affects so many other geniuses in similar shows. The ship is talking to him!! Shocker. *is reminded of Battlestar Galactica and the man with a woman in his head*. Oh well, enough about him. And those are my opinions for this week. Maybe I'll follow next week. I just wanna watch what happens to Chloe, and that's, about, it. Additionally: About Spoilers: Don't spoilers just entice people to look at them anyways? What's the point? Who knows...

The "Spoiler" option has helped me a couple of times. When I couldn't get to the episode, I still couldn't help check to see if anyone else posted on the episode. Ta daaaa nothing spoiled. Tomorrow night comes another one. Bashir

Destiny: Only blows up in dreams. Pulled that trick too many times. Young: Matt's right. He's the best leader. I think the writers are going (trying to) for Emmy's So what do you think? Are the aliens going to show up for Chloe or not? Bashirzahadoom: Don't our friends to the North capitalize the C in Canada?

So I rewatched the episode. I forsee:That bad Lucian Alliance guy trying to get the girl Gin to "Use" Eli for his nefarious purposes - SGU writers please don't. It has been done. Besides, Eli is due for some good things in his life. Also:They are beginning to imply that TJ originally put the moves on Col. Young. She said something about "I've been there, I see you going there (to Young) and I don't think I'd get you back. "Our baby." She really looked devastated at the end of the conversation when Young brushed her off. Also:Camile Ray becoming a confidant of Young's? Supportive even. This ought to be interesting. I wonder when they get Telford back. This plot point with him might be due to a movie he has to go shoot or something. They needed to take him off for a whiile. The purpose of Destiny:I wonder if they are going to find that it is some sort of training / character building scenario, not in another galaxy but set to seem that way. Kind of like a Holodeck training program. Basherama

Hey, you're the Xenolinguistics expert. I assume that includes written language as well. Looking forward to your thoughts on the latest SGU. Five years...?

Pulling off something lame as that will definitely deter the hard-core sci-fi fans from sticking to the franchise. By the way, I had a look at the SGU wikipedia page and as you can see the number of viewers in the 2nd season has gone down dramatically and actually for the first time it was below 1 million (season 2/episodes 4 & 6). If this trend continues, I don't think a 3rd season is possible as series with much higher ratings/# of viewers have been canceled before

Caprica has already been cancelled because of low viewing figures. I don't see how 800,000 people can be called "low" figures, but apparently it is. I wish it was less about viewing figures and more about fan loyalty.

I hadn't even considered that they might cancel SGU. I hope not. On the other hand, maybe they will work on some SGA movies. Captain Bashir

I also hope they don't cancel SGU and actually I haven't read any rumors about that. Furthermore, Enterprise in its season 4 had on average >2.8 mil viewers and still it got canceled Evil Romulan Overlords are not the only ones who can do the brick-wall breaking trick, but Starfleet captains as well

It might be different due to the fact that SGU is on SyFy channel. Although I think Caprica is too. SGU has its annoying points but the overall story line is still very interesting. It's like they haven't played the whole "hand" yet. They are doling it out bit by bit to a final major conclusion / resolution. Captain

According to wikipedia, Caprica is a Battlestar Galactica spin-off. I never liked Battlestar Galactica Trek rules

I like Caprica, a lot, but I know a couple of people that are into scifi but not Caprica. I can understand why as well; it's got a very dark tone, much darker even than BSG. The pilot is a bit shocking compared to the series, and it has a slower pace than i'd like as well. It's a lot like Enterprise in many respects. It has a lot of potential, but it needs to get a lot of boring stuff out of the way before it can get to the good stuff. But just as we started getting mere hints of the good stuff, the audiences have already dropped too low and the series gets cancelled. It's sad. Really sad. At least the silver lining is the new spin off that they're working on which will be all about the war itself.

BTW, i didint like the new Galactica either....so I never tried to watch Caprica....I reiterate once again some things should not be touched....and it all boils down to money...sci-fi is expensive to produce.. anything else is cheeper...this is why today we are swallowed by reality tv...thankfully us creative sci-fi people continue to adapt

Just watched the latest episode. Wow, there were so many revelations and things going on that I could hardly keep up The location of the bridge: The whole scheme Rush had planned in order to keep the location of the bridge a secret, backfired on him on this episode. Hahaha, Rush you poor bastard Destiny's mission: Finding the code hidden in the CMB. Well, this was a rip-off from Sagan's Contact, where the super-galactic civilization wanted to decipher/decrypt the message hidden in Pi=3.14... By the way, studying the CMB was about 1/3 of my PhD thesis and I can tell you that it's nothing more than plain old plasma physics. Nope, no hidden messages there Eli hooking up with the Lucian Alliance girl: So, Eli got lucky! Eli, you dog!!! Eli not being Wesley Crusher: For the duration of the series Eli was portrayed as a down to Earth kid (really smart of course) but not saving the ship again and again like Crusher (or Seven) did. This episode was a chance for the writers to screw everything up (by having Eli crack Destiny's mastercode in order to save the stranded people), but they didn't after all. Kudos to the writers for this Next episode: 1) Rush was called in the bridge due to an emergency. What was this emergency? Could it be the aliens that destroyed the other ship, are now on their tracks? Or that Eli scanned understood his crap story about the Destiny's mission? Or that the others can also see the "ghost" on the bridge talking to them, so that it was not only in his (Rush) imagination?
2) The creepy Lucian Alliance guy goes in the room and shuts the door. He is alone, so this means that he probably killed the guard that follows him. Therefore, are the Alliance people about to revolt? I can't wait!!!! PS Big spoiler warning: DO NOT check the wikipedia page about the next SGU episode as it contains a huge spoiler .Thou have been warned!
