You know, I never really thought about this until I started shipping resources back and forth through the Trading Center. Where do you think the extra 10% of resources subtracted goes? Does it just disappear, or do you think the moderators/game developers have a constant supply of resources coming in through that? Imagine getting 10% of every resource transaction which takes place.

That's what building a Trading Center is for.
Every time you upgrade it, the cost of sending resources drops by 0.5%
I always thought the admin got the resources, but there wouldn't be much fun in the game then. They make the game so they know the "ins and outs" of the game, AND they get free resources?

I know about the trading center, but that isn't going to do me a lot of good unless I build it up on my colony since that's where all the resources are being shipped from--they build up a lot faster when you do nothing but keep improving the resource gathering structures.
As far as the "lost" resources, I know if I was developing a game I'd certainly set up a system so that beating me would be nigh on impossible. I would NOT let myself be beaten at my own game. I think the resources, though, should go to a general fund or account which builds up a massive army solely to protect new players from stronger players--think of it like an X-wars police or UN peacekeeping force. Either that or maybe a raffle jackpot of some kind where anyone could win a portion of it. That'd be cool.

Ok, I finally sent terrab a message asking why he's attacking me. this is his reply:
Quote: It's the game, it's what it's all about. I'm sorry if you are weak and a farm. I didn't do that to you, you did. The reason we are so close is we started the same day, but I grew, you didn't. Go into VAC mode if you need a break.
Terrab out.
Right..so I made myself weak did I? He's gonna pay for this!

Oh, I don't care. I'm gonna defeat him, even if it kills me.

Matress, you have a few different options for striking back at him.
1) Use allies. I think that RO alliance/pact offer was one of my contacts coming through. Ask them for help if you need it, but don't be a jerk about it or anything.
2) Shove a couple tactical weapons down his throat to show him just how "weak" you are. They may be one-time use weapons, but with 4,000 attack points (that's the current value on my strongest one) they'll blast most of his ships to pieces. Take a couple of his fleets out repeatedly and he'll probably start rethinking whether or not he wants to attack you. Remember, he's a coward picking on what he sees as a defenseless target. Show him you have teeth and he'll probably move on to someone else.
3) Spend your resources building ships of your own, then send them off-world when he's sending an attack force (say to "Defend" a friendly planet or simply transport resources to someone else, even just 1 resource unit). This could be tricky. If you manage to build a fleet strong enough to destroy his initial raiding fleet, he might simply give up realizing that you aren't defenseless anymore. Of course, he might also just send a stronger fleet to wipe out what you've built so far, leaving you firmly entrenched back in square one. I doubt that right now you'd be able to overpower him in a fleet show-down.
4) I'm not willing to commit to this yet, but I may be able to hurt him without using a fleet. Station an observational spy probe over his planet, then give me the report.
No matter what, you really need to stop letting him take resources from you. If he ends up getting nothing with consistent attacks, then he might simply give up.

Na, don't worry about it, Raiden. I've resorted to sending ALL my resources from my MOE account (Except those that I need to research Energy Focusing or build defense stations) and i'll eventually build a fleet on my main account.
When I evetually send a fleet to attack him, i'll keep a fleet at home as well just in case.

Hey guys, anyone know of any problems with the X-Wars servers or admins? I sent a registration 2 days ago and haven't gotten an email reply yet. Tried to re-register, but says my email is already in the system. Tried to login, but since I haven't gotten the email to confirm, it wouldn't let me. Since the registration said I'd get an email in a couple minutes, I figured it was an automated response. How long did you guys have to wait for the email?

TheWhiteRaven, I got my confirmation email almost straight away. Try signing up with another email.
I've built the trading post but in the trade window it still says "no trades available", does anyone know what I need to do to trade?

WhiteRaven, check your junk/spam/bulk e-mail folder. On my hotmail account, it goes there. If you have your e-mail account set up to simply purge bulk mailing, then you might need to contact an admin for the game and see if they can resend or something.
Quantum, to do trading, you need the Trading Center not the Trading Post. Also, when it says "No trades available," that simply means that no active trade offers are being processed. Someone would either have to propose a deal to you which you can accept or decline, or you have to click on the "create transaction" link. "No trades available" just means there's nothing going on at the moment.
Raiden, I'm pretty sure you can build ships simultaneously on different worlds since they come from different actual shipyards. Researching is more of an empire-wide thing, although I admit it sucks that you can't do multiple researches.

Hey there, TheWhiteRaven, I never had any problems with the messages either. I got mine instantly.
The other guys are probably right - your emaill has filtered the message as spam or something.
Check your spam box, and if there is nothing there, then try and get in contact with the admin. The only other alternative is to try again with a different email account.
...
Quantum, you've done the exact same thing as everyone else - BUILD A TRADING STATION, NOT A TRADE POST!!!
The Trade Post allows you to buy ships from other players - if any are on offer. You pay a 10% resource premium for such ships though, so I wouldn't bother.
Building a trading station allows you to trade with other players - IF you know their coordinates through espionage. Upgrading the station lowers the trading premium that you have to pay by 0.5%, making it cheaper and easier to trade.
...
Raiden, remember the conversation we were having about where the trade costs from X-Wars goes? Well...
Read this...

"Hail,
I've been observing your progres (observer probe) i that you evolved fast. I propose that you enter RoFW and we emediantly comence trade, a difence coalition, and a plan to vanquish the egoistic BBB aliances. A wait for an answer.
Regards Teron,
Commandor of the Romanian Alliance
Emperor of Grandia
Ruller of Alpha Centaury"
This was an invite on my Wayne_Rooney account, from my understanding we have a Non-attack pact with them but this doesnt apply on that account. On the good side I'll have people to protect me if needed plus I'll get to trade with them, but one down side that might happen if I dont join them, is that they'll attack me soon as I say no to them.
any of you people know how these people operate?

hehe
Stumpy's only ahead of me by about 20 points.
Matress, what makes you think that you can buy/sell ships from other players through the Trading Post? To the best of my knowledge, you can only buy a couple of ship models from the actual game. Do you know if this is different? It would be great since then I could start selling ships--light ships with 125 att/75 def, tacticals with almost 4200 att, and even mediums with upwards of 500 att/500 def.

It was just a throw away comment that I read <somewhere> in the threads or the game info, Ritter.
What I should have said, was that the ships that you can buy are from the game, but you might be able to buy ships from other players.
...
SCREAM, if they are a part of Romania Alliance, then they can't attack you unless they break the pact with us. We have a non-attack pact with them. Send them a reply message and say that you are a member of the BOTF2 alliance - and that you have a non-attack pact with them. See how they respond.
If you want, i'll send them a message as well. I need to get in contact with Romania Alliance to make sure we stay on friendly terms with them, anyway.
...
I accepted BOTH of your accounts, TheWhiteRaven. However, only one of them is now showing up in the Alliance...odd...
If you've got two accounts under different emails, then check BOTH accounts, and make sure that you're a member of our alliance on them. If you have an account that isn't membered, just send another membership request.

lol, well that would explain why I got 2 acceptance responses...hmm, I only have one account though and I don't plan to set up another one. Not sure what happened there

Meh, don't worry about it then.
There IS a good point about having two accounts though - double the resources.
You can have one account simply generating resources, whilst with the other, you can concentrate on other things, eg. your fleets.
you'll have to remember to defend them both, afterall. Something I can't do though.
