I think we were all just taking our aggression out on marky, since I'm pretty certain he was one of the votes saying "Glad its gone." BTW, why would we be happy and lax after a show most of us seem to like has been cancelled? michae1ange1o wrote: There's something... on the wing, some.. I too am looking forward to those storylines. During the 'Affliction' story arc, we get to see the Columbia (NX 02) in action, helping out big brother Enterprise. Plus, if anyone out there likes the show Family Guy, the series creator, Seth McFarlane is making a guest appearance, as an engineer aboard the Columbia, during that same arc.

Cool.
According to my SaveEnterprise listings, the Scifi channel is interested in saving Enterprise, so you never know...it might still be possible to save it!
I haven't got the scifi channel over here though, so that doesn't exactly help me though...

I read that you were gone Marky? Apparently you dissappeared after doing a poll on what colour pants you should wear?
Good to see you back. Even trek has humour! (As shown by the Voyager episode when the Doctor daydreams...)

Hey, I was curious if anyone had seen the newest episode of Enterprise? If not, you may have missed the best episode ever. The episode was called In a Mirror, Darkly and the reason I thought it was great is because it had nothing to do with the real Enterprise, it dealt with the mirror universe. Its long before DS9 times, so humanity isnt slaves in this galaxy, yet, they're the slave masters.
A few things I thought that made that episode great were...
Instead of the normal, annoying theme song, it is replaced with a much darker theme song, and the visulas are no longer about exploration, but military conquest. Towards the end of the song, (where the visulas move to modern times), there are new scenes of Enterprise bombarding a city from orbit, flying in formation, and a small fleet battle. My roomate and I both agreed that the new theme was better than some whole episodes of Enterprise we've seen.
A revised first contact situation between Cochrane and the Vulcans. Lets just say it was not as peaceful as the one from the movie.
All the female characters are in a exposed midrift uniform.
2 mutinies
A cloaking Enterprise
A really good CG visual of a captured Tholian. It really looked very nice, we should find a good screen shot from this episode to use for their race pic.
Enterprise being destroyed in a Tholian Web.
But the majority of the main characters survive (of course ), because they are in the process of 'acquiring' a future Terran ship. (Specifically its a Connie from the 'good' universe). It sounds a little funny at first, but it ends up being the (original) USS Defiant, which was lost in a TOS episode where it disapeared into an interspatial rift (which apparently sent it to the evil universe, where the Tholians first find it).
Part 2 is next week, I cant wait.
If you missed it, you should try to see it somewhere. I know some of you guys dont get new episodes of Enterprise for awhile (if ever) where you live, but if you didnt see this episode, try to find it, I think its worth it.

Oh, don't worry, it won't be long for us. We're on season three already (!)
I should have seen it by the time I have a new computer...

i loved it too, dr phlox as a dr menglar type was pulled off great and how a radiation scarred trip gets tortured by reed on the orders of archer, if the tholian impressed you, wait till you see the gorn, gone is the slow lumbering TOS reptile and in its place is a fast and agile killing beast... the funniest part in the episode was onboard the Defiant when archer finds a hand phaser and reed pipes up "If you like sir, i can hold that for you" all i can say is wait till you see the Defiant in action in episode 2, youl see a TOS ship in combat action using modern effects.

i thought the radiation was one of the better parts of the plot as it showed that even though there weapons were more powerful they didnt have better safty tech or other aspects.
And i really liked the new uniforms on t'pol damn shes fine

I may not have seen the episode, but I have seen the Gorn, and I for one say NO! The TOS series Gorn was not better than the CGI Gorn!
The TOS Gorn was rather laughable as far as I care...when compared to a modern Jurassic Park-style efficient, deadly, killer...well there's no contest.

somehow enterprise seems over cgi'd to me. I thought that it looked especially crap when they had it talking into the communicator.
Oh Btw they brought out the last episodes description now, looks like ricker is using a some holodeck time to help him make a big decision, in fact he's even a macco.

i think the last episode being a holodeck program is rather stupid and detracts from the value of it "happening" as it were. but atleast we do get to see riker and troi (no they have appeared in 4 series on ST). but i guess there is no other way to do it since the treaty is meant to be later and they cut the show so...
i wont be able to watch it tonite (i live in the uk) and with btefnet being down....hmm...

yes i assume if the show carried on it would include the earth-rom war in the next couple of seasons with the whole series ending "naturally" with the singing of the Federation charter after much hardship.
So i guess we missed some cool battles but does allow any movie franchises to explore this. I wonder what the new movie 11 is, i think it involves the DS9 crew.

I agree, but I think the writers want a clean sweep with Trek.
Seeing as Enterprise flopped, () the next-gen crew are gone, and Voyager is home, a DS9 or a completely-new-set-of-circumstances film is the only way for them to go.
Let's just hope that the plot is decent this time.

maybe it would be interesting to do a totally new approach to trek films. Maybe bring this one in line with modern movies styles, trek movies have become stall now with no new approach being done since the wrath of khan.
looking at at it from a macco force or some sort of strike force going to do undercover operations would be very interesting.
Id like to see an overall view of the earth romulan war, looking at many characters. Somewhat like babalon 5 the beginning.
One direction trek has never gone in, which would be the ultimate cool, would be to make a series of connected movies. Something that could grab new fans through good effects, simple plots and low level technical babble. Make the movies 15 cert to show the power of the weapons, the pain of interplanetary war and the suffering of man kind, leading to the formation of the federation.
If they started now they could avoid looking like a star wars clone.

Didn't Star Trek come out before Star Wars?
Linked movies would be nice....ST 2/3/4 were decent because of linked events.
