Difficult one to answer without giving away spoilers.

The basic outline - At the second battle of Chin'toka, the Federation introduces the new Xenon Class starship (the class is semi-canon. i.e. hinted at in DS9, and mentioned in tech specs and novels, but not actually seen on screne), which is basically a larger version of the Defiant Class. The Federation is massacred in the battle, and scores of ships are written off.

Dominion War ends in 2375.

The Federation resumes its transwarp program. Voyager returns from the Delta quadrant in 2378 - carrying a certain ex-borg who is familiar with transwarp propulsion. It's decided that the remains of one of the four Xenon classes - namely the USS Illustrious - from the losses at Chin'toka will be sufficient for the program rather than building a new ship from scratch for an experimental project.

The presence of Annika Hansen (Seven) enables great strides to be made in the project, and the Illustrious launches in 2380.

And then...

All sorts of diplomatic events involving the Rommies, the Cardies, the Klingons, the Breen, the Tholians, Section 31, and even what's left of the Dominion make for a rather hectic baptism of fire for the Illustrious crew. Political intrigue, genocide (yes, that's right, I wipe out an entire race because I hate them ) And very soon, a race that was criminally underused in TNG is going to get things really firing...

Reading all that, I'm just realising how many things I've got/will have going on over the course of this thing.

P.S. I'm actually thinking of animating this baby. Full 3D and all that. If the I can get the models to the desired quality, finding voice talent probably won't be too hard.

If this xenon class wouldn't be so ugly, I would have like to see it in a botf II mod... but this is not my imagination of future starfleet design

there very good, (see the point when they are defending the colony u say the long range snesors are broken forever, well in the end you can use them... a minor point but better than nothing!

The characters are fleshy it doesnt focus on seven!

It would be interesting to make, as it is alot more realistic with proper conversations...

Well, actually, according to the tech specs, it is really. It has four warp nacelles - so two converted to transwarp, and two housing standard warp - and has no structural weak points. e.g. it doesn't have the long neck or jutting nacelle pylons like a connie or galaxy.

It is an ugly ship though, I'll grant that. But the Defiant wasn't exactly a looker.

UnDated - Working on it now. It's been pretty difficult over the last few weeks to get the scripts up on time.

The Defiant, at least, doesn't have so much edges. It's a fine flat ship. If I want Borg-llike ships, I'll buy a sphere or something
