hmmm, I'm kind of all over the place in terms of music genres. For a top 10 list (at least for secular music) I'll have to say:
1. Linkin Park
2. Our Lady Peace
3. Creed
4. Staind
5. Red Hot Chili Peppers
6. Chucky Danger Band (a local band that's playing around Atlantic Canada that a few of my friends are in)
7. K-Os
8. Maroon 5
9. Evanescence
10. Jimmy Swift Band

Now for my non-secular top 5 list:
1. Third Day
2. Newsboys
3. Relient K
4. Ninth Hour
5. 12:01

(haven't heard any Tree 63 Gav but I'll check em out!)

@primemover: Didn't "Yes" do a song or two for Homeworld?

I'm not primemover, but I can answer that. Yes, they did do one song which is played during the credits for Homeworld 1, called 'Homeworld' surprisingly enough. Good song for a great game.

Rush first formed in 1968. Their first studio album was released in 1974.

Since then they have released 17 studio albums... most recently 2002's Vapor Trails. In addition they've had 6 official live albums released. They're back in the studio the fall for a new disc to be released in early 2006 (as yet untitled).

Some Rush songs you might know:

Tom Sawyer
Limelight
Freewill
The Spirit of Radio
Time Stand Still
Superconductor
New World Man
Show Don't Tell
Nobody's Hero
Closer to the Heart

among many others...

Some good bands in there Jade. Did u forget Disturbed or do you just not like em?

Another band I'll highly recommend is Juno Reactor. They did most of the fight songs for the Matrix movies and have a lot of good stuff not featured in the movies (check out their song Master of the Universe). 8) Rob Dougan is another good one. I'll stop advertising now....maybe........

Shut Up Billy

If you like REM concerts then i suggest you get hold of a copy of "Perfect Square". Bought it today and i have to say it's great (i'm biased lol), it has all the best songs on including some less well known ones as well as some great added bits from Michael Stipe. Filmed In Germany 2003.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASI ... 28-3785446

Also, in light of the poll results so far, i would like to know the reasons why people dislike REM. Not because i want to break your neck but i'd like some feedback if that's ok? Thanks :D

I don't like REM for several reasons. First off, I generally like fast music with awesome guitar. REM is slow and the guitar isn't that great. The second reason has more to do with impressions. My father likes the band and many years ago he listened to REM while we were driving through the desert that is Nevada. Or at least I think it was Nevada...it was a long drive anyway, with nothing to see and it seemed to go forever, all while listening to slow boring REM. At least that's how it seemed, I was young. Whenever I hear them I get bored fast. Maybe it's psychological, I don't know, but I don't like REM. That's probably more than you wanted to hear, and I know that is more than I really wanted to tell you, but there you go Chris.
