No, I haven't noticed any problems like that, but before I reformatted my computer, I was having trouble with all my games - as an example, when I played Armada 1, the startup movie would only play the sound - i'd simply have a black screen.
I could listen to the entire thing right to the end, or I could click to get out of it. The game would then continue normally - except the game would only take up about quarter of the screen and my desktop would show up behind it. Otherwise the game played normally.
That was the only game that worked though - I couldn't even play BOTF! 8O
All my other games would simply crash to desktop.
I haven't got a clue whether it was folding@home that caused it though, coz I know for a fact there was a problem with DirectX, and apparently the Windows Installer Service had somehow been deleted, so I couldn't install anything! 8O
Since I reformatted my computer, it's run fine, except for the fact that work units seem to be failing at a waaay higher rate than they used to. I've gone through at least 8 work units in the past week, but i've only completed 2 of them!
And Ringold, if you're wondering, I ran those programs you told me about, but I couldn't find anything wrong. I didn't really understand that memory thing though, but I did the best I could with it. Anything that involves starting up the computer by using options or DOS frightens the hell out of me coz I don't understand what i'm doing.
WhiteRaven, the following links may be of some use to you:

Folding Forums
That's all the help I can give you, really.
If you can't fix it, then try reinstalling the program. If you get the same problems, try using a different version, try using a different program (Like SETI@home or whatever) or you might even have to consider not running one.
Make sure your computer is able to cope with it as well - are your computer specs up to scratch with the requirements?
Oh, and TrekBoy is right - I have been keeping watch on team number 2000 - they currently have 92242 points, and their total is going up by a much lower rate than ours - about 70 points per day at most like he said.
There are also currently three groups that seem to be competing with each other for the 2000 rank. We'll blast right past them at our current rate.

You can't run folding when playing Open GL Games. Most games this year are Direct 3d but anyting older might be Open GL. If you fold when playing them the games will usually keep minimizing. The only thing you can do isto not fold when playing them.
Sorry TWW i've got no idea about your prob

TWW??? Man, it's not The White Walrus....it's The White Raven
I think I'm gonna try getting the one that runs in the background without the GUI and see if that makes a difference.
MOE, you can get Armada 1 to run on Windows XP? I always have a problem with the audio skipping so bad that it's not even worth playing.

I have the same problem - but if you set the audio to the lowest possible hardware setting, it runs fine.
If you're not sure what I mean, go to the control panel, then select sounds and audio devices.
Click on the audio tab, then click on the advanced button under sound playback.
Click on the performance tab on the screen that appears, and set the hardware acceleration to basic, then launch the game. The sound and music should work fine. (If they still don't try setting it to no acceleration)
Remember to undo the changes when you quit the game though!
I found this out only a couple of weeks ago when I was looking for help on the Activision (Or whoever controls the game now) website. It's an "official" way of fixing the sound problems, so I doubt it'll cause you any problems.
Fingers crossed it'll work for you too.
Back to modding it now then...

Who the heck is this guy?
I wonder if he just happened to see our team somehow?

20 million?!
Do you mean 20 million frames, or 20 million steps?
My current unit is 250 frames, and 250000 steps. 2 hours to go...
26551 points until we reach rank number 2000...

You're not the only one getting small units.. it's been tearing down my daily production for the last week I think..
At least its not just us but everyone pulling in WU's from Stanford, so we're still gaining on that 2000 spot!
531 spots to go till the pretty charts start singing their tunes for us

Well that's good news...sort of.
I just completed another work unit (Not the one mentioned in my last-but-one post, I did another one during the night ) and it's the same work unit.
It makes it nice and easy when you know exactly how many points you're gonna get - and how long it'll take.
...
That's gotta be the biggest number of steps i've heard of, Qaz. How long have you got before it completes?
