Sweden was amazing and so was Norway! :D Hoped i would live their instead in Germany or Holland. Anyway i just made a small update, added the HallOfFame button to the index, nothing is behind it, still has to be made. I made the contact stuff a bit, still need colouring and detail, but i haven't got the colour codes at the place where i am, and i don't have the time to install paintshop pro right now.

The Hall of Fame button is there, but it doesn't show up as a link (The other buttons cause my mouse cursor to change to a hand, but the hall of fame button doesn't)

Or is this what you meant by there being nothing behind the hall of fame button? :?:

I noticed something with playing around with FLASH. The picture quality is actually 80%, and i can push it up to 100% when needed. I will look into this, and see what it will matter in size.

I have made an BETA installer for the BETA version of BOTF2 Database. Perhaps I should first show it to Jigaly and Gav??? I dunno, it doesn't matter much... i guess. I just made the installer and i want you people to try it out to look if it works. I don't think i will release it to be used as website.. But i can rethink the matter about that. Anyway if you want it then just ask me when i am online and you will probally receive it. Something else. i want you also to try and change the root where you will install the data, and please try the shortcut on the desktop. That's it... And also try the exit button and see if the screen goes full screen auto if you open the database, and if you press right button you have more then the two options, Settings and about Macromedia FLash.....

Errr...How do you download it? I just get redirected to the 30mb homepage when I click on the link in the downloads section! :(

Oh, and when I click on the maps section, it gets stuck on the connecting screen. The bar is grey instead of blue, and nothing happens. The site hasn't crashed though, since I can still click on the other buttons. Of course, this might just be a temporary thing. (Or my computer)

With IE you get redirected to a popup where you can press save as.. and then you press it, and you can save it on your computer. I have tried this with FireFox and IE, and it works with both of them. I don't have any problems with the maps section, perhaps the connection was just a bit bad a the moment.

I've downloaded the database now. I had both the google and yahoo popup killers working!

To actually download it though, I had to click on the details button, and then right-click on the 'Download this file now' button. (I know, it was obvious to do this, but it's the most obvious things that you think of last!)

I have installed it a couple of times, and haven't had any problems. I tried changing the root directory, like you said, and I have used the desktop loader. It goes straight into fullscreen mode, and I have actually noticed it runs a little bit faster than the website version (Probably beacuse it doesn't have to download anything this time)

The exit button also works extremely fast as well - the program closes as soon as I click it (Which is something that my computer programs rarely manage!)

When I right-click, there are only the two options that you mentioned though, iwulff, so I don't know what you mean by there being more than the two options.

I doubt increasing the picture quality will make much of a difference to the size of the file, iwulff. The file is only 1.04mb anyway, and seing the picture quality is already 80%, the extra 20% won't make much of a difference to the size of the file. Of course the database hasn't got the maps of the minor races etc, so it will be quite a bit bigger when completed, but that is to be expected.

If you've made a beta version, then you might as well show gavin and jigaly. They are also working on the game! You might as well keep them in the picture, and they might even be able to help you. You never know, they might even get some useful ideas based on the database. :D

How are you getting on with the sound effects? Have you found anything decent, or are you still searching? Let me know if you need more help with anything. I don't mind helping out.

Great work, iwulff! This database is going o be a real asset to BOTF (Oh, and I still think it should be built into the release version of BOTF2, rather than as a website - it will be a lot easier to access the database if it is in-built into the game)

Matress, I see you've downloaded it. Can you tell me; do you get the text on the sphere builders when you click them?
I get the Klingon text... :?

What operating system/web browser have you got? It sounds like iwulff may be right.

This is how I downloaded it: -
Click the downloads button -> then BOTF2 Database -> then details -> then right-click on 'Download this file now'

Don't bother doing it at the moment though. The link is broken - you just get an error message saying the server returned an unrecognised response. This may be a problem with my computer (Which would be strange, since I only downloaded the program yesterday, and haven't had any other problems) but i've reported it as a broken link, anyway.

It may simply be that iwulff has taken if off for downloading, because he is updating it, I just don't know.

...

CVN, the Klingons are still officially the Sphere Builders! Iwulff hasn't gotten round to changing it, that's all. He put the Klingons in as the Sphere Builders, just to make sure that the section of the program worked.

He'll probably change it later on. (Unless he likes the idea of the Klingons as the Sphere Builders)

That's better... :D

Maybe the Klingons changed careers. Galactic warriors to galactic builders... :D

well, the download is just ofline. I am tired of these problems, and have just asked jigalypuff if he has a solution to it, perhaps that i can upload it to AFC webspace. Anyway i think i will put some sounds to the welcome screen, and see how it will sound. :D

I have a question iwulff.
As you update and construct the database, we will have to download the program again and again every time? :?:

my web browser's IE, but it's probably my computer that doesn't have it work right.

Check your email OmniQ, i've emailed the file to you.

Iwulff, is there really a problem with the website? I have been having quite a few problems with it as well, but just thought is was my computer. Examples of the problems are that the two extra smilies are missing (Mr. Green and neutral) - when I click the 'view more emoticons' link, it says the page does not exist!)

I am also unable to view my previous posts, because of an 'internal server error', and occaisionally, I have problems posting my replies.

The site has been generally running a lot slower as well, in the past two weeks or so. D you know what the problem is? :?:

...

I can't wait to hear what the database will be like. We've seen it, and now we'll get to hear it as well! :D

Seeing as it's been over a month now, how's the database coming along iwulff? (Not that I want to push you or anything) Are there any updates yet?

I'm still here if you are looking for specific sound files or the like. I'll help you where I can.

Well progress was made slowly with this. But now that i have comfirmation that this will be the official help system for the game, i'm going to quicken up the speed of this product. I need sounds with no background noice. You can find those often in games, though.

Stuff like beeps and the like you mean?

I've got loads of those, and i've still got all those computer voices I sent you a while ago, if you need new copies or something.

I'll have a look and see exactly how many i've got.
