i think this would make a good topic, i do think the 360 has decent hardware but looking at games at the moment on the 360 thier barely any better than a pc and in the case of the new morrowind game(oblivion) a high end pc can surpass the xbox version, i know its new console but the games are pathetic compared to the spec of the 360. we all know how the pc has operating systems that are extremly buggy and outdated which windows xp is, and seeing as microsoft is a huge company thier is no excuss in my opinion for rushing its console and releasing games that are barly above that of a pc thier is no excuse, and i suspect that the ps3 will more than likely be the same with its first games. do companies think that all we want is hardware that no programmer has learnt about, i heard that out of all programmers it is said only 5% know how to program from multicore platforms. that i thought was a joke but its proberly right and these are in the specs for the xbox360 and ps3, no wonder the games they release on them are no were near the capabilities of the console. they aspire for too much i reckon, the nintendo revolution will do better, more realistic to current programmer capabilites and backwardly compatible with every old nintendo consoles and the mega drive and will be cheaper than the xbox360 and ps3.

and the 360 had a VERY LARGE selection of games. They actually had more games released when it was than the original Xbox, and the PS2. It is predicted they will have a better selection than the PS3.

Ye put whenever you buy a console game, you know it'll run fine. When you buy a top of the range pc game (like FEAR or Quake 4) if you have anything like a normal person's graphics card then you'll be screwed. All the's top pc games to make them look nice, you have to spend as much on it to upgrade as a new XBOX 360 costs.

so just wait till a pc game goes down to £5 or less and by the time that happens in 1-2 years time technology for running that game will be relativly dirt cheap, new pc games are allways built for the top of the range pcs, they are good value and are pretty garenteed future proof for around 5-10 years through regular patches, so by then you could play quake 4 even on a bog standed budget computer by then.

An emulator is a piece of software that allows you to run games or various programs that are designed for a different console on a pc.

ie run an XBOX game on a PC*

well with pcs, the only reason a playstation2 and xbox looks crap is because the resolution of thier games are set to run on tv with a low resolution, thats why the xbox360 and playstation 3 need so much expensive hardware is because you need that to run games in a much higher resolution and therefore more detailed graphics and less blocky graphics.

For the xbox360 and playstation 3 ya gonna need at least a 26" digital lcd or plasma tv or a pc monitor higher than 19" to get the top graphics of a xbox360 or ps3, cause entertainment is slowly upgrading to the digital tv era and of course so do our consoles need to.

screenshots don't mean nothing. it's a still image of it. if you wanna prove anything of it to me then install FRAPS which records the frames-per-seconds. Run it during a FEAR firefight and take a screenie showing the frame-rate. if it's anything below 25 (which is 99.9% likely to be) you're scuppered mate. like most people that doesn't spend £150 on their graphics card every 6 months.

And btw billy, i'm not debating whether it runs on your pc. it runs on mine but i just wouldn't want to own it looking completely f***ed up
