X3: Reunion

Post subject:  X3: Reunion
Has anyone else here played the EGOSOFT game X3: Reunion? I'm not sure how similar it is to its predecessors, but it's got a pretty impressive in-game economy, and the unvierse is massive. I picked up a copy of the game back in fall semester, and I just started playing it again. I was thinking it would be pretty cool to create a similar game based in the Star Trek universe. That would be an interesting project to work on after ST:Supremacy is finally finished (assuming I haven't sworn off game programming forever). I think it'd be pretty cool free-lancing yourself across the Federation and the other empires, collecting bounties for shooting up the Maquis, and just exploring the galaxy. It could even take place during a familiar story arc like the Dominion War. I think it'd be really interesting to witness those developments as a civilian. Anyone else think that would be cool? I'd love to see someone take this on as a project. You could count on my support in a year or two.

Got the entire series of x games. Oh and teh yellow bulbs on solor power plants, yep thats my idea they used :p as they have a forum where devs listen to fans and use there ideas if its workable.

Disapointed as to how little difference it is to other x games tho, the fan community was in shock and also a big argument vs devs broke out when they decided to disbanden the cockpits.

I'd never even heard of it until Skeeter mentioned it to me on MSN last night... :oops:

I must say it looks AMAZING in the screen shots though. Best graphics i've ever seen in a game.

I might get around to playing it one day. I've got my hands full with X-Wars at the moment though. :lol:

It was actually your X-Wars thread that reminded me of the game. I had wondered if it was based on the X universe, so I went and looked it up. Then I decided to go load up X3 :).
