erm are we aloud to talk in here? if not sorry!
never seen half those pics i love the federation ships and the cardie ships. the only ones im not sure about are all the dominion ones, something dont look right somewhere, i think its blurry textures? and the romulan Warbird, think its the head type thing that looks out of place. also the "reliant class" ship is a miranda isnt it?

I don't mind you talking here.
I never made any of the pictures - if you have any worries or problems with the designs, talk to the modler that designed it. (That's why I put their names in )
As I said, the pictures may not be the final designs that will definitely be in the game. These are simply the pictures that have been posted on the site and were still available for me to get hold of them. There are plenty more of them, but some just can't be accessed anymore. Some of them have been up on the site for months. (Which is probably why you don't recognise them. )
Because the models are being made by different people with different skills/experience and using different programs, (Which is why some of the pictures show program interfaces whilst others are renders) you have to expect that there will be differences in the quality of the models.
Don't worry though, because the developers will "screen" the models and will probably implement any necessary "improvements" themselves, so I shouldn't worry if I were you.
As for the Reliant, yes, it is a Miranda. Thanks to BOTF and other sources, I wasn't exactly sure what a Miranda looks like, so I simply called it the Reliant class. I can change this easily, so don't worry.
It's like the Soyuz class really - it's a Miranda, but then again, it's a completely different ship. There was a suggestion (A LOOONG time ago) that perhaps there could be multiple types of Miranda's in the later parts of the game, so that you'd have the Reliant-type, the Miranda-without-the-rollbars-type from BOTF, and so on. I don't know if this is gonna be the case or not though.
Like I said, if it's wrong, I can change it.

just some of my favs from the list above
Cardassian Hideki class by Jigalypuff
Vulcan Surak class by Jigalypuff
Klingon Raptor class by Jigalypuff
New Orleans class by Fireball
Reliant by Skeeter
love then all not that i dont like others but i love those ships
I must say the kilgon raptor is ace but not as nice as the kilgon ship in the genral chat thread
Just a question how long does it take to make a ship like that

very good job!
lol - takes a while to load is an understatement for the 56k guys. It must take they hours!
however, there is a typo. It says "Tholian ship by Zahadoom" that was actually my first attempt at modeling the tholian ship. Just wanted to let you know

Did you collect the images and put them all onto a new server? Or did you link the images where they were? Of the latter, it seems to me that these image links might go stale after a time.

I copied the images then pasted them into irfanview.
Then I saved them and loaded them into my photobucket account.
The images won't go stale, although I might run out of bandwidth...
It resets every month though, so it doesn't matter.

i especially like your ships, jig!
but i think this is because you have given them textures, most of fireball's ships look cool too, but a bit naked *fg*

Dammit - i've just had an email from photobucket saying that i've almost reached my usage limits. (2Gb in four days?! 8O)
I'll ask Jig if he can host the pics on the site for us.
They're for the game, afterall...

I'm really sorry about this, Killer - all the images are copies that I made and hosted on my photobucket account.
I didn't realise the thread would eat up by bandwidth so quickly.
I've sent the pictures to Jigalypuff, and he's gonna host them on the site. Once he's done that, I (We) won't need to worry about the bandwidth limits.
Even if Jig can't host the pictures, my bandwidth limit will reset on February the first, so the pics will definitely work by then.
If you can't wait though, send me a PM with your email addy, and i'll send the zip file that I sent to Jig, to you - the file is 6.01Mb and contains 92 pictures. (Most are alternative views of the same ship - they are NOT views of 92 different ships)
Otherwise, Billy is right - the pictures are ALL found on the site, you'll just have to trawl through the forums to find them.
Remember to look at the stickied threads, because these tend to contain all the important info.

Thanks for doing that Jig, i've updated the pictures on the first page as well.
Just to remove any doubt - the pictures on both pages are the exact same ones!

to all the ship designers:
could you export your files to VRML so we could watch them in the browser? i think http://homeworld2.sierra.com/gallery.jsp uses VRML, or something similar and those ship-previews are amazing
