I kinda have an excuse coz i've been busy helping Jay move house all day, Stumpy.
Anyways, 170 quid, 25 launch games, and December the 8th are all we need to know. Oh, that and the fact that Zelda: Twilight Princess is one of those launch games!
...At least, it is for the Wii. The Gamecube version - that I preordered TWO YEARS AGO - has been delayed by a few weeks, although Nintendo haven't said why.
The Wii also uses 12cm disks - the same size as CD's/DVD's - but it does NOT have DVD capability. Nintendo had to scrap that feature because it (Apparently) would've been a relatively expensive feature to implement. It obviously doesn't feature any HD capability, either. It
is backward compatible though, and can play Gamecube games.
The Wii has ports for four Gamecube controllers, two Gamecube memory card slots, 2 USB ports, two SD memory card slots, comes equipped with 512Mb of internal flash memory, and can wirelessly connect to either a DS or the internet.
To access the internet, it will have an Opera-based browser, just like the DS will have. You will have to pay for this browser though, using the Wii's points system. This system will also be used to pay for any games or extras that you download from the WiiConnect24 service, which will allow you to download games from Nintendo's library of games - which includes games from all of Nintendo's previous consoles. There will be 60 of these titles available by the end of the year, and after that, 10 new games will be added per month to the list of downloadable games.
...Ok, yes, I have been reading up about the Wii! But can you blame me? You're talking to a self-confessed Nintendophile here!
