Ya, 6800s are not too bad on their own, and the V9999GE version is a rare find, but I don't have the money, sorry Skeet. :(

No problem mate.

Btw prices were not including postage so i best do that now. So a price drop for asus card to £75 from £85. And £6 postage.

Ti card £20 + £6 postage.

Payment accepted: Bank Transfer or postal order or cash (send recorded/special delivery if u do) Prefere BT tho as easier.

Slap my wrist for being picky but am I right to assume that includes cheque?

No PayPal I noticed as well Skeet - to be fair with the amounts they can charge it ends up being a bit overrated except for ebay.

Cheque is fine but you have to wait till it clears which will be 6-7 workin days. Oh and ...

PAYPAL IS EVIL

hehe

im on a GeForce FX 5200 (128mb RAM).

Its the one component that Vista wants me to update.

(I got it for free, since I salvaged it out of a busted computer I got for free)

and i have no reason to upgrade, since the only games I really play dont require anything better.

I also built some custom heatsinks for it, and its over clocked.

Though I would be intrigued by that 6800, if it wasnt a few thousand miles away, and then currency conversion isnt fun either.

Post subject:  Re: Got a 6800 256mb and a gfti 4200 64mb cards for sale

It plays legacy erm okish but res needs to be about 1024 for smoother play than 1280x res.

My cpu and ram is amd 64 3500+ and 2gb geil value ram. So depends on rest of ur system mate.

Currently most systems drag on the maps that are heavy on nebulas mate were all waiting for patch or mod that helps performance with regards to this on the legacy forums.

Ok just did some tests with fraps on legacy. Very playable on skirmish.

Image

Average fps 30-40fps. 1024x res with high detail 1x AA.

Image

Averages about 20-25 fps. 1024x res with very high detail 1x AA.

Image

Averages 15-20 fps. Sounds low but is playable. 1280x res with very high detail 1x AA.

Bare in mind it is a highly configurable game and modifying the ini it will make it either slower or faster depending on what you change.

God, some of the textures on the underside of the Sov are horrible. I'd have thought even at low settings you wouldn't need lots of AA. I run all my games at 1024, then try and max out the settings.

Have you tried overclocking the 6800 Skeet?

Aint tryed mate. And yeah i know i reckon legacy makers could have made some ships undersides look better.

Btw ingame as i said in above post i used 1x antiantilizing. But i can easily use 4x aa with little impact.

Also i believe theres a bridge commander sov imported into legacy if you go to the legacy forums. Hmm one sec ill find link..... ....

Heres 1024 res very high detail selected ingame, 1x aa selected ingame but using in nvidia panel 2q antiantilizing and 16x atriscopic filtering. Smooth as owt with this. Probably do higher aa and af values.

Sry no fps to speak of as i didnt have fraps on at the time but it was smooth and i would say 30fps or near it.

Post subject:  Re: Got a 6800 256mb and a gfti 4200 64mb cards for sale

Just tryed to see if i can go futher and it can, 4x aa and 16x af and very smooth infact made me think why sell it if i can play like this and smooth lol.

Oh and i turned off vertical sync which could be why it was smoother fps. Also enabled triple buffering so might be why it looks nicer underneath now tho i put that down to 4x aa and 16x af.

Reduced to £70 + £6 postage for quick sale.

Btw i should note its unboxed so just the card, tho drivers and software could be burned to a dvd as i have no cdr left. Althought it will be alot easier if you download the drivers and software from asus site. It will come in a strong box and padded well.

Here you can see im using the card till sold. Not been overclocked or attempted.
