So will we be getting an Alliegence general chat anytime soon? Since all the other games have one. Just wondering.

And Yes, I'm itching to get back into the game. It was such a blast, only thing that was bad was the race against the clock (alpha testing)

Of Course Everyone Knows the Romulans will be the Victors! And not cause we are the Superior Race (which we are), but because it IS written in the stars themselves!

Yes I am calling all you gamers out! lol Someone has to get the ball rolling.

Problem is most people know nothing about allegiance - its been a closed test so far, so only a few of us know about it. (As in have actually played it, not just looked at pretty screenies) :(

By the way, I've contacted PC World and my CD was dispatched yesterday, so it'll arrive either tonight or tomorrow. When I'm back online proper, could someone send me the details so I can log in again? Pleeeeease? :)

I'll tell what I can but Nem (the creator) can do it much better.

It is a browser based game (kinda like Solar Empires I think)

Totally online Multiplayer game. Continuious! Start your planet, build resources, mining drones, populations, then start building ships colonize more planets. There are 4 major races, Federation Romulan Klingon Cardiassion, You will be able to choose which major you want to be. There can be 100's playing at once! A central command for each major. Voted on so if you dont like the leadership you can get someone else in that position. Huge Starbases to build or take over. You can take over (when in war) other planets (possably players too) do some serious battles.

Turns build per hour mantainence, the game continues to play even when your not online. It takes the Group to really make it work. If you fight among yourselves in your empire. You could be over ran. !!

Very exciting. At least I think so...
And 1 lucky soul will be chosen to play the Borg!

If you have never played this type of game before, join us in X-wars, it is a good place to learn this type of gaming...

Hope that helps some..
but for better info ask Nem or skeeter or Matress...

I'm just winging it here.

winterhawk, your awesome.

its true that most of my 'descriptions' have been full with technoblabble, and longwinded stuff, so I really should make a better quick description.

--this is still long winded, but it should help to explain what the game is, and what im working on--

Winterhawk is quite accurate. Although the game has changed quite a bit since you and MOE have played. Its currently under a major overhaul, so gameplay is a bit different.

The basic description:

Star Trek Allegiance is a massively multi-player port of Birth of the Federation. Players work together to form one of the four major empires in the Star Trek Universe, to fight for control of the galaxy! The game focuses highly on teamwork, creating an interactive, engaging game that doesnt require tons of time a day to play. It is based on Solar Empire, but is almost completely rewritten, becoming more of a communal game than what I call a 'single-player multi-player game'.

It is currently in the stage between Alpha 4 and Beta 1, and we should expect a Beta 1 test within the next few months. This test will be on an actual server, rather than hamachi, and will last at least a month. This will be to test new features like democracy, peace/war, economics, tech, and espionage/diplomacy. (and yes, I am working on an espionage system

For more information, check the main allegiance forum. That will contain the most up-to-date information regarding the game, other than if you ask me directly.

btw - I have been contacted by a podcast about this game, so if I decide to do it, expect to be hearing my voice online!

I played something like it back in the day (3-4yrs ago). It was Star Trek in almost every way except they basically just changed the names of things. It rocked. And one day, it bloody disappeared. Much to my own great sadness.

I'm hooked.

So.. 1) Link? 2) When's it open?

All I can say is that once I understood how to play (after skeeter gave me a WHOOPIN!), that I was sooo ready to get back in and play more! lol

Yea Nem you got a link to the podcast site or you going to hold out till they are about to play that?

Been a while winterhawk... Last time I did a forum drout this long most of the people that made the forum(s) worth going to had vanished. I am glad to see this one has held up much better.

P.S. Romulans only think they can win... Even then only after some strange ceremony involving incense, clay pots, pipes, and some very intresting looking plants. Don't deny it Winterhawk we have eyes everywhere.

but you forgot the Orion slave girls. Cannot forget about them.

Think? We have no need of thinking.. We Know! *checks blackberry to see what we know, ah yes here it is*

You may have eyes everywhere, but they can not "see" if we chose "not " to be seen, your ears may hear, but you will only listen to our footsteps long after we are gone. You can even reach in the dark corners, but you will only feel empty space for we move as shadows inside shadows, and our silence can only leave fear in your hearts....

Ahhh... But your views are limited. You only see what is infront of you, we can see what is beyond and are not limited by the bounds of your narrow Romulan views of what is real and what is not.

Hey Fox, long time no see!

I made a post yesterday *somewhere* about people I haven't seen in a long time. I forgot to put you in it...luckily I didn't need to! :P

...

It's true that me and Winter haven't played Allegiance in a long while, and when we did we were killed off by Skeeter due to a lack of communication on the Feds' part, a lack of experience and understanding of the game on our part, a complete lack of walkthrough guides, and a little white lie on Nem's part.

That lie really cost us...

Anyways, if you've ever played any browser-based games like X-Wars, you'll have an idea of what Allegiance will be like. I was completely addicted to Allegiance when I was playing, and i'm certainly looking forward to the first beta test. (Or at least the next alpha, hint hint Nem...)

Whilst Allegiance will be a port of BOTF, due to the multiplayer nature of the game, you WON'T be in control of an alliance anymore - instead, you will be in control of one of the alliance's Planets. (You can take more later on in the game)

When you begin, you will have a simple ship laden full of colonists. You have to find a Planet as quickly as you possibly can and claim it for your own.

Once that is done, you have to set some mining drones to mine either metals or fuels. Metals and fuels can be used (In a ratio of 4 metals to 3 fuels) to make electronics which can then be used to make fighters (I believe these will be renamed to Phasers or something to make it more like Trek) Your colonists do the actual building of fighters - so the more colonists you have, the more fighters you are capable of producing. You also get more taxes by having more colonists!

Turns in the game will be the number of actions your ship can perform per hour. There will be a set amount of turns per hour, although you can win more turns in Ferengi auction houses on your Starbases - if you're extremely lucky!

As you move your ships from one Planet to the next, (Or even just load and unload cargo) you will use up some of your available turns. Once the turns are used up, you CANNOT do anything until the next maintenance occurs. (Which *should* be every hour once the server is up and running)

When a maintenance occurs, you will gain some extra turns, a small amount of taxes from your colonists, and an amount of metals and/or fuels depending on how many mining drones you have. These resources will then be used to make Electronics. (Which are needed to build fighters and are the most valuable resource in the game, although the cost of Electronics is NOT currently equal to or above the cost of the individual resources needed to make electronics. :()

Once built, fighters are then used to defend either your Planets or your fleets - and the more the better.

You can also load your gained resources onto your ship and take them to the nearest Starbase (Once you've found it!) to sell them for money. You can then use this money to buy more mining drones, colonists, ships, ship upgrades, special ship systems, or special structures...

Don't ask me what happens when you win a battle though...

I hope thats enough info to keep you satisfied...

Post subject:  Re: Alliegence

now, its true that we absolutely dominated Matress (the feds currently have a 2 - 0 win ratio, meaning we conquered the galaxy twice), but that doesnt mean that they didnt stand a chance.

ok. fine. we absolutely annihilated them.

but I dont remember this 'white lie' that you are talking about.

please explain?

btw, matress, is it possible that you can get this 'cd' online?
