I generally recommend starting with a degree in Computer Science. It also helps to be a little insane. :bigthumb:

I can't recommend you good english books or cds, but I think visiting gamedev.net and buying a standard c++ for beginners book will at least show you the basics of programming and if you like it or not.

Beside the code, that is all important, you need a lot of content. You could use a professional composer of original music, artists for 2D images and modelers for 3D, voice actors, sound effects, writers and well you get the idea. A finished product takes a lot of crazy people. Welcome to the nut house. :borg:

depends on the type of gme your wanting to make, try 3d game studios lite c it is free to try so you can decide if you`d like to buy the engine. There are some very good engines out there but until you learn how to code tis` pointless linking to them.
