Now that is interesting! I would not have thought an asteroid would have a moon, but it just shows i was not thinking outside the box. I'd be curious has to how stong the gravity is on the asteroid |

I had a moon once too you know. With my total lack of gravity though she decided to move on. Last I saw she was still looking for a new heavenly body. |

Perhaps this asteroid before was a planet, then got destroyed but with enough gravity strenth to hold moon.... |

I dunno, I think that they were asteroids from the start. Also, they have enormous orbits throughout the galaxy and many are enourmous themselves. I first found out about asteroid moons when my family took trip to DC and I was looking through the air and space museum of the Smithsonian which was down the street from the hotel we were staying at, didn't get enough time to browse through it though.
