Please provide feedback on combat dialog for the games. In the original game you hear your ships communications triggering off the combat action. I need help in making it sound right. My particular weakness is with the Dominion. I did not see much of DS9. Some of what you see in the others is from the original game but I do not feel that it is necessary to retain it just for tradition. Borg We are the Borg. Existence as you know it is over. You will be assimilated. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Resistance is futile. http://www.botf2.com/Shared%20Documents ... There is now a Borg intro link above. My effort may be more pathetic than futile but if you can do better please do. (Darn Sears implant anyway) |

With the Borg, thats got to be a hard one, you would literally have to wait for more then 5 people to submit the same line, then add them all together then resynthesize it to get a "Borg" like effect. Good Luck |

davumaya may have software that could combine multiple audio files as if they were multiple lines of input. I PMed him to see if he can help. |

I have a mixer now and can put different files together as the voices of the collective. To make it sound best though I need mp3s of different voices saying the same reading. (The link at the bottom is me ten times with some changes of pitch and or timing on each track.) Please use this tool http://www.download.com/Mp3-My-Mp3-Reco ... 69269.html to record and save at say http://www.esnips.com/SignInAction.ns?action=forcesign an MP3. Save the file and link to it here so I can assimilate you. Resistance is futile. "We are the Borg. Existence as you know it is over. You will be assimilated. I realy like the style of this Borg recording! The only problem is that I find it not very clear. The first part in particular. I think it is better to have more people record a sample and merging those than to make a few files with "phase differences" between them. I'll submit one myself after I bought a new microphone. |

About the borg samples. It needs to be a deeper voice can you see if you can alter the voice to be lower and deeper and redo it. 2nd sample is good but if you timed the multiple versions of the 1 voice better in sample 1 i think that would be better. As in keeping the repeated voices in sync with each other. |

The second one is good, might want to tighten up the distance between seperate voices a little so they're not so spread out. |

I have made my own Borg one at home using Microsoft Sam, Mary, Mike and so on. It isn't wonderful, but it was the best I could do. I've edited and mixed the voices together, (They ran at different speeds, and Microsoft Sam especially has a slow voice) but it's something. I would've added in my own voice to make it sound better but my Microphone isn't working for some reason. I'll post it when I get home. If anyone knows of other voices and where to download them from though, let me know. Three voices is a bit pathetic for a collective of three trillion drones. |

Go to The Birth of the Federation 2 Consortium > Shared Documents > Sound Recordings > Borg > Single voice Borgs and there are a few single voice recordings by me. They are there to be add into the collective in a mixer. Davumaya is working with my files and his recoding to mix a collective. You could add your single voice files to that folder and let him know. Assimilation can be fun and as always resistance is futile. |
