I've looked on the internet, and there are some people with abandoned botf2 projects, if we could only contact them. Then i'm sure a lot of them would help with this one, and could help you out, with some programming. We just have to advertise this project to the startrek fans out there.

this thread is so old i have no idea why it is back, zahadoom to get you 3d max it would cost in the region of $4500 or thereabouts. so i don`t reckon we will get it for you. there is some free 3d modeling software like blender try that. all other botf 2 projects bar the one at afc are long since dead.

Do you mean the compiled model or the game executable?
I dunno wich formats the models actually have (though I remember this has been mentioned to me) have, but the game will certainly be a main Botf.exe with some other files.
(These "other files" will be the ones we will sit hours in front of an opened editor with to mod in quantums for a Constitution ^^)

This post is quite old now. I'd like to contact developers of BOTF2. Should I send an e-mail to gturfrey, or to someone else?

I found out about this project from a guy who was interested in joining it. He claims to have sent email to that address in late september and got no response so I wouldn't bother.

I wouldn't bother... I sent an inquiry to Gavin back in August as well. No response. I imagine at this point he doesn't want to take on additional developers because so much of the code base is completed that it'd take him more time to answer a new developer's questions about how something works than it'd take him to finish the job himself.

Gavin is obviously busy with work, the game, and life in general.
I imagine that pretty much everyone on the site has PM'd or emailed Gavin for one reason or another.
The simple fact of the matter is that he's probably fed up with it, like Jig was.
OmniQ sent a PM to Gavin september asking whether he was going to use the random events that we created or not, but still no reply.
It would be nice to know, but we understand that he is busy.
Iwulff has kindly created a BOTF2 email addy, so do as he said and direct stuff through there. It should get answered then.
That said, could you ask Gavin about the random events for us, Iwulff?
We spent quite a lot of time on them afterall, and we don't even know what the actual random events will be in the game.
Thanks.

True, but a simple thanx but no thanx message wouldn't hurt.
Also if Gavin dosen't have time to respond then relaying mail thru Iwulff won't change that.

yes it would, because gavin has more time for me then for you. This may sound bad, but it isn't. I've been here from the beginning and we don't only talk about botf2. Ok here is what i do, i will ask gav, about this and tell you guys the answer.

Yes, that sounds very bad. I feel there are many good developers out there who could have contributed a lot ot this project if gavin had had the time to answer them. Maybe the project would have been finnished now with more people working on it.
