Hi guys and gals.

Just wanted to see if theres anyone from here that would be interested in helping with making a star trek mod for SpaceForce 2 game. forums here

As i have been following the game for awhile and been learning of the files etc and found it to be very modable and the devs are great towards the community like ansewring mod questions and helping release mod tools like map and material editors and in the future a SDK along with 1.2 patch.

I havent started the mod yet as weapon modding is lacking due to limit of 2 hardpoints and ability to make new weapons textures etc. When the SDK comes out it should be possible to do such things then.

Apart from the weapons stuff its modable in ways such as add new ships without replacing them, maps, real time editing of materials for specs and bumps and shaders in material editor, a heck of a lot of files u can open and edit with wordpad/notepad like stats and editing sounds should be doable and movies if i ask em about it later.

So if anyone fancys helping with ships/editing files etc and would like a cool space open ended game based on trek gimme a bell either through msn or pm or email or just post interest here.

Team speak would be great to use when mod gets started up.

Stock game aint bad either btw and its cheap.

It looks a bit like FreeSpace, one of my favorite games of all time.

I'll have to look into it a bit more, but depending on Allegiance progress by then, I may be able to help. (get my 3d Modeling skills back up :twisted: )

Hi all.

Not much to see yet but heres a vid of the constellation class that im trying to get ingame. It was going well till the back end didnt show up, i have asked leva for help on this and hope to get it sorted.

You may know that the model in view is fireballs excellent constellation class crusier. He kindly let me use. :)

the front looks cool. strange with the back though. guess that wouldn't happen if the engine supported raytracing ;) (I know that ain't possible yet for any game..)

Cony ingame kinda.

I think its missing pieces cos of the game for some reason cos i know the models themselves are fine as they go in other games ok. I think perhaps sf2 doesnt like more than so many uv maps or textures.

Ooh if you could just find a way to control the disappearance of the ships then you would have a really good cloaking device effect - or even a good effect for a ship coming out of a nebula! 8)

Nice music in that video by the way, Skeet. I've never heard of this Spaceforce game before. It definitely looks like it's worth a look... 8)

the bump maps on that constellation class are wrong, it looks like big welds insted of panels. weird that the connie is missing bits, is the material selection set to 100?
