no, honestly, as you surely have noticed, the site is undergoing some major facelift. in the process of that the downloads are down until they're made ready within the forum software.
there are no other downloads of bote in the meantime, so you just have to wait a few weeks till everything's in place.
Installation is now extra-easy since we removed all the "upgrade-fuss" and you simply get one installer to go. Still, you have to manually remove the bote fonts of previous alpha versions in your c:\windows\fonts folder and copy the new ones there, but that shouldn't be too much a problem i guess
.We made the AI a lot more aggressive btw. so playing could be hard if you're not already an experienced bote player. It can (and will) bombard planets now before it comes to invade them.
however we made the AI empires changeable in strength, i.e. you can set different difficulty levels in the bote.ini file after you installed the game. Set it to BABY (capital letters) or EASY for starters!
P.S.: the resolution thing is now also fixed so you should be able to play with your 1024x768 monitor that you had 3 months ago

I actually find C# a lot easier to read than most languages, particularly ones like VB that have no tokens to identify where code blocks begin or end ('{', '}'), or even the end of a statement (';'). Of course, I've also been writing C# code on a daily basis for like 3 years now. I think C++ is by far the hardest language to read because of all the obscure macros and typedefs that get used (particularly in method declarations), though it can also be quite elegant, albeit easily abused.
